What Film Are You Watching Tonight?

Thunder 3.

Mark Gregory ( wonder what happended to him…) plays the indian hero for one last time. He does his best, but the guy cannot act. The effects are super cheesy and no one gets killed. But its sort of like watching a western with the various confrontations, so it kept me watching.

HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION

Ugh…

Going to watch What Have They Done to Your Daughters? . Looks interesting enough

ZOMBIEWEEN

ZOMBIEWEEN II

no vacation  - planning to do the last Castellari’s spaghie i haven’t seen - TeDeum - and then i’ll grab his action/crime flicks - Il Grande Racket and Street Law

His crime films are the way to go.

I’ll second that.

I got home early so I bought some microwave popcorn, and am sitting in watching Mad Dog Killer.

FULL METAL JACKET

FULL METAL JACKET

Not my favourite Kubrick but not bad. At least it’s not Barry Lyndon lol.

I really enjoy it. If you ever wondered what basic training is like, this film nails it.

Well, it’s not Barry Lyndon - it’s the superior film to Full Metal Jacket for me.

MR. MAJESTYK

My favourite Kubrick:

1. Full Metal Jacket
2. The Shining
3. 2001: A Space Odyssey
4. Barry Lyndon
5. Paths of Glory
6. Spartacus
7. Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
8. A Clockwork Orange
9. Lolita
10. Eyes Wide Shut

That’s all the Stanleys I’ve seen.

That’s a list of great films!

Have you ever seen the television version of THE SHINING?

I haven’t, no. I tried to watch it back when it came out as it was the “Stephen King Approved!” adaptation of his book but I just kept thinking, “Wings! It’s that muppet from Wings!” Which I accept is desperately unfair, but I couldn’t seem to UNthink it. Maybe I should give it its head now, now that I’m (hopefully) less likely to be preoccupied with Steven Weber’s suspect comedy vehicle choices. ;D

Yeah, King wrote the screenplay. It’s more faithful to the novel, but unfortunately it’s not very good.

Frankly speaking, I’ve never had a bee in my bonnet about Full Metal Jacket too. Barry Lyndon is phenomenal though, a sheer marvel.

If it weren’t for the basic training storyline, I wouldn’t rate FULL METAL JACKET very high, either. But those scenes are simply phenomenal.
