What Film Are You Watching Tonight?

The cast and director make it very tempting to give it a watch indeed.

Edwige Fenech is always worth a watch so of course
Il grande attacco aka The Biggest Battle (Dir. Umberto Lenzi) (1978)
Very grand Italian war movie with name actors en masse: Stacy Keach, Henry Fonda, Ray Lovelock, Giuliano Gemma, Edwige Fenech (!) etc. etc. The move follows a diverse group of people on both sides of the war and how their lives interact aswell as showing some real war battle. Unfortunately dispite the many fine actors and a score by one my favourite composers, Franco Micalizzi and directed by Lenzi for Gods sake it doesn’t quite lift off. The different scenes seems too episodic in execution which doesn’t fit a movie that tries to be epic in proportions.

Recommended if you’re really into war movies.

Version watched: DVD released by Danish Another World Entertainment… Presentable 2.35:1 anamorphic picture and both the Italian and English dub available. Only Scandinavian subtitles though.
That version is a good one. I have it as well. It does have too episodes that do not mesh well.

I have not seen it nor do I care to.

Agent 3S3, Massacre in the Sun aka Agente 3S3, massacro al sole (Dir. Sergio Sollima) (1966)
Another one from one of the great directors. This time an entry in the spy-genre from Sergio Sollima from before he did his western ‘trilogy’. This one is definitely better than the last spy-flick I watched (Ticket to Die). A more exciting plot, a better score and in general a more 60s spy atmosphere. George Ardisson playing the title lead Agent 3S3 does a fine job and is well fit for the role. Spaghetti western freaks will also appreciate a fine performance by Frank Wolff who had ever-changing hair in this one. Blond and ‘flat’ in the beginning and curly black in the end. Hilarious. Also contains appearances by Fernando Sancho and Eduardo Fajardo. The plot is the usual stuff so no need mentioning it here. It’s a spy flick. Nuff said.

Recommended, but those expecting something of the same quality as Sollima’s westerns will be sorely disappointed though.

Version watched: Rip from cinemageddon.

“Stranger In Paso Bravo” tonight.

"Vengeance For Vengeance " tonight.

I hope to get around to viewing a Mexican Western called YO, EL VALIENTE, featuring Julio Aleman and Emilio “Mapache” Fernandez, tonight.
I also plan to re-watch Giuliano Carnimeo’s MOMENT TO KILL with George Hilton and Walter Barnes. I haven’t seen this one in awhile, but I recall really enjoying it when I saw it a couple of years ago.

I will watch “How the West Was Won” tonight.

It was a fine movie, I loved every minute of it.
9/10.

Codename: The Soldier.

An elite undercover CIA unit fight terrorist groups around the world.

Short film. The outstanding action pieces are the real highlight in this which do not shy away from violence. Klaus Kinski pops up in a small role.

This was cut to ribbons in the U.K.

Family night, so THE HANGOVER (we all hate them)

Yes, thats right…used to own the rubbish cut one.

Cemetary Without Crosses tonight

A Serious Man by the COEN Brothers.

Yankee tonight. Anybody know where to get Franco Cleef’s English dub?
