What Film Are You Watching Tonight?

Some of us won’t be able to get in :-[.

I’m sure it will be 3D everywhere, seems to be a requirement for animated films now

Is this rated R?

It will propably be a 15 rating in Sweden, which means that I am three years too young.

Ah yes, forgetting the rating system goes by different ages in other countries

Go the the Low Countries Silence, I’m sure it’s for all ages in Belgium, and if it isn’t, you can always cross the border with Holland: even if it’s not for all ages, nobody cares who buys a ticket

I’d love Holland!

I worked in movie theatres on and off for years in the US. I was a projectionist back when one had to actually know how to work with film. Anyway, during that time also spent many hours at the window selling tickets. When I started no one really cared about who got a ticket to what film. If someone looked like they were around 18 good enough.

But later there was a big change. The law changed and the ticket seller could be given a $500 fine for selling a ticket to an R rated movie to anyone under 18, and they weren’t kidding. Teens hated me for turning them away but what could I do? They had made it almost as illegal as selling alcohol to people. That’s another one that changed. Alcohol used to be 18 years old in much of the country. Now it’s 21 years old.

To my knowledge the recent PG-13 rating has never been strictly enforced.

Silly kids. Buy a ticket for something else and let your feet do the walking

In Britain it’s been rated “12A”, which is a cross between “PG-13” and “PG”. It will probably be the same equivlant in other countries I would expect.

Jack Frost tonight. the Michael Keaton one.

Viewed Open Season.

Three men kidnap a couple and take them to a remote place and abuse them mentally more than physical for the most part. The men set the couple free and hunt them down the like animals.

Not fast paced till the end part of the film but film keeps you watching. William Holden turning up at the end of the film is nice.

I read the book when I was a child. Open Season reminded me of Deliverance, without being something special.

Yes, good way to describe.

Sounds all very interesting
Never seen the film, never read the book, but I remember a Elmore Leonard novel about a similar subject

Eagle Eye. tonight.

The Life OF Brian tonight.

Classic one!

watching one of the best early slasher films by the late Bob Clark Black Christmas. It is very much inspired by Italian horror with the killer’s face never shown and lots of hands and killer POV shots. Even at 35 years old this still holds up and is way better than the so-called horror films of today.

Speaking of so called horror films of today last night I watched 28 Days Later. Apologies to any fans here but I was very disappointed. Didn’t care for it at all. But, I just may be a grumpy old man who is becoming hard to please in his dotage.

28 Weeks later is the better one.
