What Are Your Top Ten Favourite Animations?

Yeah the old Tom & Jerrys are amazing (don’t like the freaky Chuck Jones episodes though)

Yeah, they are brilliant pieces of animation. I still re-watch them to this day.

I’m a sucker for old mecha anime series, stuff like VOLTUS V, GETTER ROBOT, DAIMOS, GRENDIZER, MAZINGER Z etc.
PLAWRESS SANSHIRO and IGA NO KABAMARU series were amazing too.

I’m mentioning Mighty Heroes until someone else besides me remembers…

This thread must be full of nostalgia for some of you ;).

Just rub it in young’un. ;D

For the old shorts, my pick would be the Droopy series.

Can’t think of 10 but my favourite cartoon has to be Disney’s The Jungle Book.

The recent UP wasn’t bad, and I loved Monster House

I don’t hate those things, but like BL I live with somebody who loves them, so I have seen too many of them

I loved The Indian in the Cupboard, not a cartoon, but a bit similar in spirit

They definitely saturated the market with a lot of mediocre ones, but there are still some good 'uns once in a while (as scherp already noted). I still need to come up with a list m’self one of these days. I just hate doing lists since i invariably leave something off (how the hell could i have forgot BRIDE OF FRANK in the sequels list?).

  19. Monsters, Inc. (Docter, 2001)
  20. Princess Mononoke (Miyazaki, 1997)

If The Simpsons had wound up production after maybe ten or twelve seasons it would’ve been roughly no.2 on my list of TV shows. As it stands, someone needs to take that show out behind the barn and shoot it. Put it out of its misery, and us out of ours.

If I considered A Scanner Darkly (Linklater, 2006) to be an animated picture it would be no.2 on my list of movies. I don’t consider it animation, strictly (not for the purposes of this exercise, anyway), but I appreciate that many might so I thought I’d qualify its omission.
