Un dollaro bucato (Blood for a Silver Dollar) Japanese Blu-ray Pix

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere but I picked up the Japanese Blu of Un dollaro bucato (Blood for a Silver Dollar) and wanted to share some pix.

A really nice Blu in Italian, English & Japanese with removable Japanese subs. Great set of extras. 2 trailers, 1 in English and 1 in Italian, an Interview with Gemma, and a collection of all the poster art for the film.

I uploaded 15 images of both the physical disc/packaging and images from my TV

I should mention the Blu-ray is 1080i not 1080p similar to the German Edition.

Thanks.

Any more info I should add here?

TRANSLATION:

This is a different one, a Japanese Blu-ray of the spaghetti western “One Silver Dollar” (Un dollaro bucato / One Silver Dollar), starring Giuliano Gemma. Here’s the translation.

Tagline (top red text):
“Gary, whose life was saved by a silver dollar. Revenge for his brother. His beautiful wife in danger. The guns of fury now blaze!”

INTRODUCTION & STORY:
The Civil War has ended and discharged soldier Gary (Giuliano Gemma) briefly returns home, then heads back out west to make some money. He’s hired by Yellowstone power broker McCorry for a job taking down outlaws. At the saloon, Gary is shocked to see the outlaw he’s been sent to bring in is actually his own younger brother Phil. Gary is shot down by Phil’s bullet, and Phil is then killed in the crossfire from McCorry’s gang. But the silver dollar coin his brother had given him stops the bullet and Gary survives by a hair. Realizing it was all a trap set up by McCorry, and that his brother died a victim of a land dispute, Gary rises up to avenge him.

The blurb goes on to say this was hugely popular with fans of old Western films and is considered Giuliano Gemma’s signature role, calling it the best known and most popular of all the Macaroni Western hits, now getting its long awaited Blu-ray release as a special edition.

Second line under photo strip (red text):
“A masterwork of absurdist suspense…” wait, that’s not this one, let me not carry that over, this cover doesn’t repeat that line.

Regarding the video and audio on this disc:

  • Some portions of the video and audio have rough spots that were difficult to fully restore
  • The Japanese dubbed version uses the original audio as it survives from its old television broadcast as is, so any parts that were cut during that broadcast will play in English audio with Japanese subtitles instead

Then the standard “please read before use” section repeats, same playback cautions as before (need a compatible player and HD display, watch in a lit room, disc is copy protected, don’t route the output through a VCR or the copy guard signal can cause picture distortion, connect the Blu-ray player directly to your monitor, dual layer discs may briefly freeze at the layer change point, some players may take time to load or have audio lag during chapter skipping, a dedicated Blu-ray player is recommended).

Handling and storage cautions, same as previous inserts (don’t touch the disc surface, clean with a soft damp cloth wiping outward from center, don’t use cracked or repaired discs, keep away from heat and humidity, don’t stack heavy things on the case).

Region note:
This disc is authored to only play in specific designated regions. It can’t be used outside the countries or regions listed for sale, and export outside that region for sale purposes is prohibited.
