Really silly and annoying - the German dubbing is nerve-racking! It’s a shame what the director made out of the budget and the cast. I wonder what the missing 15 minutes could contribute to the 90 minutes version I was watching? I give 2/5 - 1,5 for CC and 0,5 for BB :

Quite an odd little film. Not a great script which only really takes off in the last 20m when our two heroines start fighting each other. Cardinale’s clevage is on virtually permanent display throughout though. Some of the continuity seemed very odd - not sure if German version re-edited film.
I watched this in German - in the original French version there is a good gimmick to justify French as everyone in the town is a French immigrant and speaks French (signs are in the shops saying they can speak English if asked). The sheriff, played by Michael J Pollard is an English speaker learning French and carries around a translation book. Some of his dialogue is in English and I think Pollard dubs himself in the French version as he speaks a mixture of English and poorly accented French.
In the German dubbed version, Pollard is learning German rather than French and speaks a mixture of English and German but of course all the shop and street signs are in English and French rather than German so the gag is largely lost.
There is also an English dubbed version - not sure how they deal with the French signs etc in that. Might try and find a copy.
My German copy ran only 86m - even if PAL that’s several minutes short although all the nudity seemed intact. The UK MFB records 96m for the English dub whereas the Italian censors have 94m for the Italian version.
The story is that it’s a French settlement in the old west … The movie was shot in two versions, English and French … some of the dialogue for general crowd scenes is dubbed but the key scenes with the main cast are filmed twice, with those actors speaking in their own voices.
Michael J Pollard is recorded in English and his clumsy attempts to speak French in order to win Claudia Cardinale’s affections. Apparently he was stoned and drunk all the time of production, according to Teresa Gimpera, who played one of the ‘Frenchie King’ gang.

The German dub is hilarious if understood 
Found an English print of this which runs 94m16s vs the German version I had which ran 85m57s (possibly PAL).
In the English version everyone speaks English with a French accent lapsing into actual French a few times. (In short this is a precursor to the UK sitcom Allo Allo in which everyone spoke English in different accents and the French accented speakers could’nt understand the German accented speakers etc). Pollard is an American learning French. Both Bardot and Cardinale as well as most of the cast are mouthing English in the dialogue scenes. The Aunt sings her song in English also. Pretty sure it’s not Bardot or Cardinale’s voices in the English dub.
Looking at my German print, that seems to be the English version dubbed into German checking out some of the scenes with dialogue close-ups. The German version cuts the introductory 1m scene in the town before the arrival of Maria’s clan, probably to remove the town sign which says everyone is French since in the German version they are all German! This also removes some townsfolk moaning about the American weather vs the French weather. Not sure what else has been cut.

Yes it is … that’s Claudia and Brigitte’s own voices … Claudia speaks English quite well, and BB has a much thicker accent. She also voiced her own dialogue in ‘Shalako’

Well, the German version, I actually would prefer it to cut another 80 min out of the German version …
I haven’t compared the shorter version, but I can guess that the nudity scenes are gone … all of Bardot’s gang of lovelies go skinny dipping and are spied on by the Sarrazin brothers, and then Claudia confronts them over bathing on her land, and takes their clothing as a punishment …
There’s also a close up of boobs which are a distraction for one of the brothers in a bicycle race, who gets abducted along with his other brothers, as Bardot wants to know why their sister is so interested in the ‘Little P’ ranch … which of course is loaded with petroleum.
The nudity seems to be all intact in the German version including CU of bare breasts and scene in which Maria’s brothers are rear naked.
I haven’t finished the English version yet.
The bare breasts CU was cut from the A rated UK theatrical release as well as some of the fight between Maria and Louisa.
