The Last Western You Watched?

fuckin´ great disputation :-X

Sure is  .

Thirded! Motion passed!
another western from Corbucci´s filmography has been seen -
Sonny and Jed
What did you think of the fuckin’ scene where Tomas sucks on a fuckin’ cow? ;D

he looked he had some experience with that sort of suckin´
well, this movie has quite a reputation here, that´s for sure

Finally saw Killer Calibre 32 for the first time. Thought it was very good. Cant quite figure it out but it seemed unique to me. Maybe its Peter Lee Lawrence.

Watched IT CAN BE DONE… AMIGO! Not seen it since the early 90’s. Enjoyed it more this time round, good stupid fun from Bud and co.

The Long Riders by W Hill
when i found out what´s going on in this spectacle, i almost didn´t watch it
you know, how many movies you have seen about Jesse James? you know the legend
and it´s nothing new in it, all the same story
but i watched it and it was quite good with nice characterization for each member of the gang,
so story didn´t focus just on Jesse and Frank,
action sequences were breathtaking (in that sort of way, you must rewind the scene and watch it again)
what was a clever thing, all fictional brothers in this flick were played by real-life brothers,
so Youngers were played by three Carradines and so on
after movie, i started thinking how many movies i ve seen about this gang
well, probably the best was that one with Brad Pitt
also one is with Colin Farrell (which was bad i think) and one with Rob Lowe, which is quite good

Have you seen The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid Tomas?

no, Yod, is it something strikingly good?

well, i checked that on imdb, and it looks pretty interesting
btw, what´s your favorite Jesse James movie, folks?

Long Riders is probably my favourite Jesse James film.

The old one with Henry Fonda.

Vengeance last night. I have been feeling like I’m in a bit of rut with spaghettis, but this was a really good film. I didn’t give it close enough attention, but yeah, I very much enjoyed this one.

my favorite is Assasination of JJ by…, love the atmosphere of this one, and Pitt and Casey Affleck were great

Probably the Pitt flic, but until I have re-watched it I cheer for the 1939 classic with Tyron Power and Fonda.

i just checked tv and Guns of the Magnificent Seven with George Kennedy is on late at night - i wasn´t aware that this movie even exists, thought
there are only three movies
nevertheless, some imdb review told me, it´s better than other two sequels, so i´m going to give it a try

Bandidas ::slight_smile:

so, i watched Guns of the Magnificent Seven
i learned from other two sequels, not to expect even a watchable movie in this famous franchise - yap, Lee Van Cleef sequel
was painful to watch, and i can say that about Brynner sequel too.
Guns was quite good, watchable flick with fine actors, we have George Kennedy in the role of Chris and Monte Markham in “seven” role,
some other guys were also interesting, ex-confederate one-armed soldier for example
In Brynner-Cleef parts i was disgusted by action scenes, but this one have pretty good ones, or one bigger one at the end and few minor
throughout the spectacle. And this finale showdown is an assault on the stronghold scene with one big badass machine gun, which
is always a pleasure
in summary, best sequel of the franchise for me, but also nothing so special

I liked it. But I think the filmmakers were ‘too aware’ of the lethal double-dynamite package of Hayek and Cruz, so the production wasn’t allowed to bloom into something authentically dusty-around-the-edges…

Using 2 ‘internationally unknown’ Mexican-actresses might’ve forced the film’s teams to operate on a higher creative-level. Still, though… it fits-in perfectly with the delightful roster of rousing Saturday-morning western fare.
