But their really isn’t too much content in Hunting Party either. And it’s themes are irrelevant. ften being overshadowed by the overly accentuated violence.
So that would make HP just a bunch of cheese and tomato with no bread.

I think THP has both tomato, cheese and bread. The story is about Hackman and Reed both wanting to take Bergen and SPOILERS: it does end up with everyone dying. And we have a moral of the story. SPOILERS END
And I don’t find it too violent. Nothing extreme or hardcore at least.
No I agree, but I am a liberal kind of guy .
;D
And then I should add that I’d rather have a film with a lot of tomato and cheese and no bread than the other way round. I prefer content over style but that is always up to yourself and like with all opinions nothings better than the other.
Good for you for defending your ground, Silence, even if you are standing in quicksand.
Monte Walsh.
Only viewed last month I think but could not resist viewing again as got a better print and yes this is a fine western indeed.

I have only the CG torrent, couldn’t find a decent DVD, have you found one?
One of the finest westerns in history
Not sure. Someone sent me a 2.35 print with no t.v logo’s on with the choice of Spanish or English audio. I was thinking from a Spanish dvd perhaps I do not know…
Return of Sabata (1971)
Bought the DVD about a year ago, immediately rewatched the opening scene and … it took me about a year to finish it
After two mediocre football games, a mediocre spagh didn’t even feel hopeless, just mediocre
When the women are the best thing in a spaghetti, you know you’re not watching a masterpiece
The opening scene is still great, bringing some Fellini-esque surreal humour to the genre
I guess I won’t hurt anybody’s feelings when I say Parolini is no Fellini, so don’t expect his quality, but it’s still a nice, funny, inventive and clownesque scene. The remainder of the movie isn’t quite up to the scratch, but if you watch it with ultra-low expectations (like I did) it may even surprise you (once or twice)
And when the women are not the best thing in a porno, you don’t know what you’re watching anymore.

And do you see a great difference to the 1st Sabata?
They are similar in many ways: there’s a rather ‘Sartana like’ convoluted plot, there’s an ever-smiling Lee, there are some good jokes and there are some bad jokes
But the first movie worked better, it had a better flow, Lee was in better form, and the supporting actors were better, especially Berger and Franco Ressel
But Return isn’t as bad as I remembered, it’s by no means one of the worst of all
Heaven With A Gun.
Glenn Ford plays a man torn between his old life as gunfighter and new one as preacher. Trys to bring the people together who are fighting over grazing, but still has to resort to violence most of the time to get things sorted. Bitter film at times and surprised to see some nudity in a late 60’s U.S western.
Viewed two westerns in a row…shall it be a third…
Maybe you should try Hour of the Gun. Very good one, that.
Thanks, one I do need to watch again.
watching Rancho Deluxe with Jeff Bridges…not that great so far
Randolph Scott film if I’m not mistaken?
Nope. OK Corral part 2.
James Garner. Watched on TV here a couple weeks back.
Randolph Scott did play Earp though, Silence. so not too far off. He was in Frontier Marshall as Earp. But that may not been what you were thinking of.
