Deaf Smith and Johnny Ears - I watched a dvdr of it with a tele-logo (TCM?) in the corner. I have the vid (MGM) as well but easier to watch the dvdr. They look similar quality but I haven’t compared running times.
I’ve nothing to add to the dedicated thread - pretty much agreeing with all that’s been said already, so I’ll post here
Reinl: Winnetou and Shatterhand in the Valley of Death http://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Winnetou_und_Shatterhand_im_Tal_der_Toten
-Average Karl May movie shot in beautiful landscapes.
Some Dollars For Django was viewed tonight…nothing special, but probably the first western I’ve watched in at least a month!
“Red River” (1948)
- John Wayne
Plot: IMDB
Tom Dunson builds a cattle empire with his adopted son Matthew Garth. Together they begin a massive cattle drive north from Texas to the Missouri railhead. But on the way, new information and Dunson’s tyrannical ways cause Matthew to take the herd away from Dunson and head to a new railhead in Kansas. Dunson, swearing vengeance, pursues.
Phantom’s Review: One of the greats. A classic in every sense. Excellent acting, film direction. story and action. A must see for fans of American westerns
So true

I rewatched Sergio Leone’s The Good, the Bad and the Ugly today. A masterpiece with the greatest showdown of all time. The three leads are great (especially Wallach) and the action never lets up. This is as good as it gets with Westerns and films in general.
Yesterday I watched Castellari’s men on a mission flick, Kill them all and come back alone.
This is one of the best if not the best men on a mission SW for me. I recently watched Five Man Army and this one is better by far.
I like Kill Them All as well. Didn’t like it that much the first time but I liked it the second time.
Viewed Villa Rides !
Big budget all star cast Pancho Villa romp. Some fierce action in this and forgot Frank Wolf co starred. Bronson is a standout who shoots first and thinks later.

Not too bad, but should’ve been better
Biggest dissapointment: you’re waiting for a climax which never comes, the film just peters out
Chuck definitely steals the show here
Agree should have been better.
Blindman
Thoughts on its thread.
Cattle Queen of Montana - Alan Dwan
Good role for Barbara Stanwyck in the lead, with Ronald Reagan as her (stiff) love interest.
Apart from Babs naive and pretty old-fashioned. Not as laughable as I remembered it. Recommended to no one.
Yesterday was something like a Western Day on several German TV stations.
First I tried to watch a Movie I never cared much about: The Way West with Bob Mitchum (who looks like a living Sleeping Pill in that), Kirk Douglas and Richard Widmark. A good Cast in a boring and clumsy movie.
Then there was one of my favorite Randolph Scott/Budd Boetticher Western: Comanche Station . A fine scripted movie and with a length of only about 72 minutes.
After that there was somewhere else a Western from Eastern Germany: Toedlicher Irrtum. I have to admit I’ll never was a fan of these Westerns so I had to turn it off after few scenes. Probably I give an other Western of Eastern Germany a Chance in the future.
Vari: Django the Last Killerhttp://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Ultimo_killer,_L’
-Rewatched the film, this time Koch’s dvd. Really good film, moody, well directed and the two main actors are great making good pair. The first 20 minutes aren’t that good but once Ghidra enters the picture it get better and better.

Just my words …
Saw Yankee from Tinto Brass (no naked gals ;D
Blueberry.
Hunt for treasure film, which has way to much Indian mumbo jumbo in for my taste. Thought I was viewing a science fiction film with snakes in the last part of the film.
I rewatched the movie Challenge Of The McKennas.
Good film music by De Masi.
Bullets Don’t Argue
First time viewing. Nice movie, well made with a great score & cast.
