The Last Western You Watched?

I just watched another Randolph Scott western this time it was “Riding shotgun”.
8/10.
Well, most–if not all–of the films that are on those triple feature discs should be in fullframe. They were made before the cinemascope days.
So, I would say they are close to their proper aspect ratios, amigo.
I guess most of them were shot in ratio of 1,37:1, fullscreen is 1,33:1. I don’t think anybody will notice the difference
It’s like 1,85:1 shown ‘fullscreen on a widescreen’, that is 1,78:1. Only Hawkeye will ever spot the difference
(By the way: Most televisions have overscan, so you won’t ever get the proper aspect ratio)

Viewed Bad Jim.

One of three average drifting cowboys trades horses with a man, and the horse is a little different as used to belong to Billy the Kid. From here on the men change and start to rob banks and kill men.

Starts out a little different but then just falls into the routine.

-Best film of late Peter Martell, one of the best looking spaghetti westerns.

This was also the last Western I watched–and I agree that it was Martell’s best and that it is one of the best looking Spaghetti Westerns.
A solid favorite of mine!

Una bara per lo sheriffo.

Watched these last weekend and will watch more now so I better get this done…

Red Blood, Yellow Gold
Interesting film. It doesn’t really have a main carachter. But very entertaining. In the roles we see George Hilton as a priest AND dynamite expert, Jorge Martin as a Mexican (lots of weird make up here), Edd Byrnes who was actually ok here and Gerard Herter as his usual role as a villian. José Bodalo plays one weird character here. He plays the usual Mexican bandit role but is completely insane and not in the ice cold Kinski way. He’s family are supposed to be Mexicans of course but where obviously played by gypsies.

Man Of The East
Not really a good film. No action at all. If you tend to enjoy these Spaghetti Comedy’s (like me) you better watch out for something else. Nice Yugoslavian locations though and great 70’s score by the De Angelis Brothers.

A Stranger In Town
Good film. Takes a while for it to start being good tho.

This one comes up with one of the worst German nonsense dubs ever heard.

A favourite of mine as well.

Welcome to Blood City
Interesting one with Jack Palance. Not bad.
Bandidos (Massimo Dallamo)

But I certainly fail to understand the enthusiasm of this one. I guess it’s my Death Rides a Horse (for Stanton)
Or my El Puro LOL.

Yeah I don’t really like this one either but Salerno is great in it.

“A Gunfight” with Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash have been watched. Its an interesting film but its to long-winded.
7/10.

I agree on this one.

Just finished the Koch DVD of Dead Men Ride. Seen it a couple of times previously but now I can fully appreciate what a solid effort it is. Definitely one of the best Italian Westerns of the 70s (and I know that’s not saying all that much, but hey…).

7/10.
I really love this film, i think Johnny Cash is just perfect in that role. He would have been great in spaghetti western too.

I watched THE REVENGERS tonight with William Holden, i’m not sure where my one is from but it’s a region 2 Pal release and the packaging is in English but no U.K. certs on it (but it does have Dutch and Irish ratings on the disc itself).

I’m glad it hasn’t got any U.K. certs on it and i have a good idea why it’s not released here, there were quite a few dodgy horse falls.

I quite enjoyed this to be honest but i feel the ending was a bit of a letdown.

Cemetary Without Crosses
I have pretty much thought’s about this one so I might post a review… great film however.

“Arriva Sartana” have been re-watched, its the weakest of the Garko Sartana’s IMO but its still good fun.

Thanks to Brother Ennioo, who allowed to me watch God May Forgive You, not Me (but in better nick this time) - I’ve had a thoroughly good hour and a half. Despite its corny last 15 minutes (which I still thoroughly enjoyed) this is a great little spaghetti. Great performances from Ardisson as Cjmango, and Ghidra as a baddy in the guise of Dick Smart (great name), and Peter Martell (RIP) as the best drunk in town, and one of the best performances of a drunk in a sw. Great cow shit too.
