The Last Western You Watched?

“Diehards” in what sense? I don’t consider myself a non-diehard fan of the spaghetti western genre, but i still think that this film sucks badly ???

Ramon the Mexican
Nothing special, tries to create atmosphere using very long takes and scenes where not much happens, but it just makes it harder to watch because it takes better director to successfully pull something like that off

SILVER SADDLE
Still one of my alternative top 20. Something like the last really good SW.
Watched the amazing new release of Koch Media.

Will Penny has been viewed.

A more thoughtful and sensitive western than my usual western viewing, and a fine performance by Charlton Heston. Lots of familar faces in supporting roles, and shame the director of the film died when he was young.

Who look for something good in even the worst.

Crazy Bunch

After I saw the first Tressette, which I kind of liked, I rented this one. I’d say that this one is like a sandwhich without bread. It has some good stuff. funny jokes, fistfights, etc. But there is no bread (plot) to hold it together. The jokes got pretty tedious.

2/5

Cemetery Without Crosseshttp://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Une_corde%2C_un_Colt was viewed. It is certainly understandable the high regard for this gem. 4/5

I think Nello Pazzafini steals the show

Django shoots first aka Django spara per primo
Great Fun with a hilarious appearance of George Eastmann at the end. This time Glenn Saxson is Django but of course this movie has nothing to do with the original. IMO a simple well scripted story with Fernando Sancho in a Buddy Role. Nice Music Score from Bruno Nicolai. A nice little western with some nice (nasty) characters. 4/5

Watched the German TV Version (Canal +) which had a fairly good picture quality but unfortunately cut.

Shotgun
Great one. A good suprise.

Django and Sartana Are Coming… It’s the End

Another Demofilo Fidani flick so was expecting something perhaps not great but at least entertaining in the same weird way these Fidani’s usually are (for me at least). But boy was this one nearly one great piece of crap. A LOT of wasted time spent watching people riding from one place to another with nothing happening at all, card games carrying on for ever and ever, hell even the end credits travel on at the most slow speed I have ever seen, all so this piece of rotten film can fill in it’s 83 minutes.

The score by Coriolano Gori is fine aswell as it was in the other 10 or so movies that sports it. The only really good thing about the movie is in fact Gordon Mitchell which plays the deranged gang leader but unfortunately he isn’t given much screen time.

Play good attention to the title of this movie, it does spell doom and that is what you get.

Avoid unless you want to watch it all like me.

Like that one too. Donald Pleasance as maniac preacher is always a pleasure to watch.

And I did not even think of Donald Pleasance as Dr. Loomis in this  .

Arizona Colt Returns
The epitomy of mediocre. Not enough substance to be thoroughly bad but it is poorly paced and put together with characters who’s fates mattered not to me. But the finale was at least somewhat entertaining even though it was rather inconsist and pooryl edited.

Light the Fuse…Sartana is Coming
Carnimeo’s masterpiece. Probably the smartest spaghetti Ive seen. Garko is Garko so that’s good. Fast paced too. A lot like Price of death or some Giallo.

Chato’s Land, viewed for the first time tonight. Enjoyed it!

Django shoots first.

Nice one, not spectacular, but nice.

Dell Aquila: Tequila Joehttp://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/...e_venne_il_tempo_di_uccidere (dvd-r)
-Nice film with Anthony Ghidra. Some sort of mixture of Fistful of Dollars and Rio Bravo.

Also 15 minutes of Kid, Terror of the West but it was too much, too much for me…

In the last few days i watched Texas across the river (comedy western which i found genuinely funny), Seminole (not sure if that’s really a western, but it was ok) and Cheyenne autumn (good, would have been better without few stupid comedy scenes).

Glad you brought up Seminole alk0. Because an article I read on wikipedia discusses Florida Westerns. Western set in Florida that deal with Indians and such.

Cheyenne autumn would be better without the funny Jimmy Stewart Scene. If John Ford made Cheyenne autumn more serious and accurate it would have been a better western.

I also like Seminole. There is another Seminole Western (?) with Gary Cooper: Distant Drums. I remember it wasn’t bad either.
