I can highly recommend it, and the same goes for ”Violent Rome” which is also on my top 10 Italian crime film list.
It was great. Recalls the mood of that era. I remember this crisis unfolding when I was younger. Again, as much as i want to hate Ben Affleck, this movie was very well done.
Gangster Squad - Not really a serious gangster movie, but a very good action movie, which is perfectly cast, imo… looking forward to seeing what the director does next
The last film I saw was Mil Sexos Tiene La Noche (1984), directed by Jess Franco and starring Lina Romay as a physic who is made by her “master” to murder people that double-crossed him. It’s well made with a very effective sound design; we see everything from the point of view of Lina Romay’s character, who is often under a trance or dreaming, so it isn’t always clear what is real and what’s not. It looks very good and Franco directs imaginatively; it’s certainly worth seeking out.
This is a pretty obscure film and this blog review is the only one I could find outside of IMDb:

Haven’t got anything from them yet, but a picture quality looks more than solid, so I’ll order those films anyway.

DARLINGS! - Terrible dutch 80s comedy about a bunch of spoiled brats who make their parents’ life a living hell. Impossible for me to finish it, switched it off at 60 min.
Any idea about the original title?

I was going to pick up the old U.K. Warner tape to check it out a while back until I found out that the BBFC cut a hell of a lot out of it. Any idea what they could have cut?

Blue underground did plan to release ”High crime”. They even planed a Castellari box-set with 4 of his crime films. But then for some reason they started to release the films individually instead and “High Crime” was never released. As far as I know because the 3 first films did not sell very well.
Pity. I’d love to have a DVD of High Crime released by Blue Underground, with some extras including interviews with Castellari and Nero for instance. Their releases are always awesome, many of the covers are also my favorite ones. Truly great artworks.

A proper release of Day Of The Cobra would be most welcome too.
…and The Shark Hunter for that matter.
From what I read on another forum they tried to obtain the rights, but they did not want to pay the demanded price for them because the other films had not sold well enough.
So in a way you are right.
Did you know that “Caligula” was offered to Orson Welles? He turned it down on “moral grounds”…probably wise to do so, although I’ve never seen it.

Sounds good, I’ve only seen a bunch of Jess’ 60s film (which I liked a lot) and I didn’t know he made Lovecraft connections in his work (or I forgot), that makes me want to check out other films of his even more.

That’s the one. My greek VHS has a running time of approx 100 min. and the cover is the same as the one Yodlaf posted above (also on Warner Home). Bad Lieutenant is also very right when he says that is shouldn’t be watched in english: the dubbing is beyond atrocious.
