The Last Movie You Watched?

The Deep.

Treasure hunt one for treasure at the bottom of the sea. Alot of underwater sections which became a bit on the dull side after a while. But I viewed the extended T.V cut at just under 3 hours which is to long for this film. Eli Wallach had an interesting supporting role, and a lovely score by John Barry.

Just watched Blast of Silence , great movie! Thanks to whoever it was that recommended it here

A different sort of Noir that even ends up in a good ole western ghost town. A movie that shows just how stupid a woman can be. The plots a bit unbelievable at times but a decent view in the end.

I believe it was either Korano or Rififii but I posted about it here. I promise to watch it every Christmas from now on

That’s because it’s Sweden ;D.!

And … she has an almost pornographic sex scene (a lesbian sex scene, though …)

Silence, I don’t get it, lesbian sex scenes because it’s Sweden ??? Enlight me.
(I’m sure other will want to know everything about this subject too)

THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE - Finally got around to putting it on. On the fuck thought this up! Very sick and twisted, not as visually nasty as I was expecting but it didn’t need to be.

I’ve always wanted to see the longer tv version but every time it’s on tv it seems to be the regular edition.

In a trade a while back, just never got round to watching it till now. Only fullscreen though, but still quite watchable.

I think Silence was more talking about the pornographic part.

And yes, we want all details … and some pictures … and anyway we can also come back to the lesbians part …
pornographic

lesbians
??!! Where?! That definitely beats the last movie I viewed! :o
Revisited QT’s Inglourious Basterds.

Still great and I feel it is QT’s best work.
After rewatching it I’m inclined to agree, only I didn’t like it the first time around.

In Sweden (and just because it’s Sweden, says Silence, the Swede of service)
I’ll try to convince the family to travel north this summer …

Don’t Play With Fire.

Group of bored geek style kids always seem to be up to know good. Not long before they get there hands on some banker’s drafts which they try and cash and get into all sorts of trouble.

Always remember the kids all seem to wear spectacles in this, and this is fine, as wear them myself. But none the less always sticks in my head. Intense stuff at times, and the ending is well worth the wait.

Suddenly… very entertaining, and good role for Sinatra…

Fury at Smuggler’s Bay (Gillings/1961)

One for the family with Peter Cushing who we all enjoy and Michele Mercier who was a treat for me in particular but the whole thing was no more than average in total. Bernard Lee in an unusaul villains role and lots of 18th century muskets being fired but never reloaded it would seem. ::slight_smile: One interesting point for a Brit of my generation was the feature role played by William Franklyn, a face we are more used to seeing in old Schweppes ads. Schhh…You know who.

The Mob 1951

A great Noir with some good twists. Very enjoyable. A cop who stumbles upon a murder off duty accidentally lets the murderer go. His punishment is to get to go undercover & try to track down that same man who happens to be a mob kingpin. Great appearances by Ernest Borgnine & a cameo by Charles Bronson.

From Here to Eternity
-Not kinda film I expected, still from the beach scene is such a famous shot and basically all I knew about the film. So I thought it would be basically a love story. Interesting film with good script which doesn’t go the way you’d expect. Ernest Borgnine and Frank Sinatra have both nice supporting roles.

Clift is great in that film. Very good film. Glad to see you branching out a bit, Bill.

Alpha Dog 2006 Nick Cassavetes

Good film, this Cassavetes is becoming steadily a good director not dishonouring his father name.
The film it’s well paced, with some good scenes and keeps the interest of the viewer on a high level, based on a true story we can see the how it will end coming, but even in that aspect the film its well balance with all the characters stuck to the main plot. Other thing I liked it’s the lack of any moral agenda, the characters are what they are and do what they do, and if you come from a family of criminals its no surprised you will end up a criminal too. All the characters are very well developed, it can be even scaring seeing what the world its turning out to our kids, like in a Larry Clark film but less shocking, but still traumatizing.
All the actors go well, I’m surprised but Justin Timberlake did became a reliable actor, Willis been doing the same parts in the last few years, but he clear knows how to choose his parts well, even the smallest or secondary ones like in this film, from an even older generation the few scenes of Harry Dean Stanton are really show stealing, also quite impressive is Ben Foster great performance here a good actor to be taken in consideration (what The Messenger to check out my words).

Like I said a good and interesting film, I’ll give it a 4 stars or something between 3.5 and 4

For some reason I have avoided this film so far, but I think I’ll give it a chance now
Don’t remember what gave me the impression that it wasn’t a film for me (not the name Cassavetes)

About the Clark films: I liked the first I saw, but concluded after the second that I had seen enough of his work
A bit too calculated in his attempts to shock viewers

Come on, 3.7 ? 3.8 ? A bit more precise, please
