Not my genre. But I did recognise Mifune too.
Ditto …
‘Shinsengumi’ (1969)?
Too old, I think.
If the movie was released between 1975 and 1985, as suspected, and if it was shown internationally and belongs to the samurai film genre (chanbara), then according to Toshiro Mifune’s filmography it is one of these three: Shogun’s Samurai (1978), directed by Kinji Fukasaku; Ogin-sama / Love and Faith (1978), directed by Kei Kumai; or The Fall of Ako Castle (1978), directed by Kinji Fukasaku.
So, my guess is Shogun’s Samurai.
Companero_M and a certain domain imply The Fall of Ako Castle
Correct, Runner. It is 1978’s ‘The Fall of Ako Castle’.
So I guess it’s your turn now…well done.
Well done also to Companero, who narrowed it down to three, but unfortunately chose the wrong one.
Red Sun
Correct QuickDraw , and I guess it was the unusual combination of the two screenshots that made it a little bit less difficult. Your turn ! (The next clue would only have been that there is an obvious connection to the last film The Fall of Ako Castle, which should have made it much easier (but I had not thought about that when I chose the Red Sun)).
Land Raiders (1969)
Yep, your go aldo.
Thank you, QuickDraw … I think it was that patch of grass on the rock that cinched it!
ok, no prizes for guessing who this is, but which of his zillion flicks is it … it’s not ‘Zulu’
The magus?
Yes it is … surprised, but happy this was guessed so quickly!
Back to you, QD
The Boondock Saints ?
Yeah, love that one.
