The Good, the Bad and the Ugly / Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (Sergio Leone, 1966)

Funny reviews, one says there’s hardly any plot another says there’s enough for two movies.

I ended up cancelling mine, because Amazon were just taking the piss.

Well I thought Arrow would have been better but they cancelled my order and now it’s out of print. Ridiculous!

That’s grim. Do you know what happened??

No idea but I’m very disappointed since I’ve missed out on the entire set now.

Only way now is to pay triple to an eBay scalper

Laban gave a detailed account of the differences between the Italian Mondo Blu-ray and the 1966 Italian theatrical release. Is the Arrow extended version closer to the MGM 2003 extended version or the 1966 Italian theatrical version?

Sorry man. I’d be gutted if that happened to me.

Unfortunately very true.

Ha - picture of Van Cleef is from FAFDM. Probably an AI generated picture.

WHO GIVES A FLYING FIG…

HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you and everyone on this wonderful site!

There’s no probably about it. Absolutely horrendous haha. I’ve seen others such as Jack Nicholson ā€œendorsingā€ a Shining t-shirt in Facebook ads.

Out of all places, I find this thing at a horror convention during my trip to America recently. $75, sealed. Life’s kinda cool sometimes.

Regarding the scene at the Confederate outpost:

Victor Israel says to Van Cleef ā€œif you’re looking for a summer vacation spot you’ve found it, our hotel is luxoriousā€. And there is ā€œinternational cuisineā€.

He is talking to a modern audience, the holiday package existed in the 1960s but it sure didn’t exist in the 1860s.

So this doesn’t sound right, maybe this is why it was originally not included in the film?

You could trim this scene though, so that those lines are removed but Van Cleef still visits the outpost.

Says who?

What is he saying in Italian?

This wasn’t dubbed into English until about 20 years ago.

Yes we must check this, I don’t know at the moment.

I suspect it’s something along those lines though, the wounded soldiers laugh when he says it.
