Croatia vs. Gareth Bale today.
Anything can happen because we had huge emotional discharge on Friday against Serbia, but Croatia is much better than Wales and our front line is in great shape so Bale 1 : Croatia 2.
An important day for the World champion: to retake the first place in their group, Spain will have to beat France in Paris tonight, in what is no doubt the match of the year (so far). Who would have imagined that: Spain in trouble during the qualifications. But then again, in a group with France no team would have a easy qualification. Quite bizarre, these two countries in one group. I know France didn’t do well on the last two tournaments, but they were in the Final of the World Cup in 2006 and won two titles in the last fifteen years, that’s better than most other countries. Some of the other groups look particularly weak in comparison to the Spain - France group.
If Holland beats Roumania at home, they’re very close to qualification, especially if Turkey beats Hungary in Istanbul (and I suppose they will). Would be an enormous success for Van Gaal, who had to build up a new team with youngers players and a couple of stars (Van Persie, Sneyder, Robben). Sneyder is injured and I guess it will be a difficult game. Holland beat Roumania in Roumania 4-1, but that night the Roumanians played on the attack, which gave the quick Dutch players like Lens and Narsingh a lot of space to use their speed.
Interesting to follow the Croatia and Belgium games: they’re playing for direct qualification. The number 2 woill hacve to go to the paly offs. No problem, one is tended to say, but imagine you meet Spain!
England @Montenegro is also interesting…
Right, Montenegro doing very well.
Millwall lost in semifinals of FA Cup, so Del Boy’s dad’s prediction still didn’t come true, but it’s the second time they were close…
Wigan V Manchester City final.
I’m rooting for Wigan to win but I doubt that very much.
Well, my beloved O’s have just missed out on the promotion play offs after a terrific end to the season and despite another win on Saturday. Would have been nice to have the chance of going up but still one of our best seasons of recent times so plenty to be happy about.
Someone who can afford to be even happier is Austin Fisher, who’s Swindon Town have finished just above us and secured a promotion play off spot for themselves. Damn their eyes. Good luck in the play offs Austin. I’ll be rooting for your guys despite heavily resenting the fact that your win on Saturday shattered all our hopes and dreams.
No good year for Bad Lieutenant and myself either: PSV blew it for the fifth time in a row
They can still be second (would secure them a place in the qualifiers for the Champions’ League) and win the Dutch Cup, but in Holland the Cup competition doesn’t mean a thing.
So: BAD year, BAD Lieutenant, MAD Scherp.
Well I’m not even talk about my year, the worst in all the club history. And still not free of happening something similar to Glasgow Rangers

Dutch cup final today. Not much of a prize, but it will have to do for PSV.
Silverware is silverware
He didn’t do it in Johannesburg in 2010, he failed to do it in Munich in 2012; but …

Congrats Arjen Robben & Bayern
Good game. I got the result right but not the score. I had it down as Borussia 2 Bayern 3.
I was happy for Robben too, I never wanted him to go to Real Madrid.
Good game, BD played best in the first half, but BM had the better chances, so deserved the win, still Dante should have been expelled.
I’m happy for Robben he really deserved it like Drogba last year
You’re right, El Topo. Like Drogba he was one of those great players who had repeatedly failed to win a great price (and let’s be serious, at this level we talk about international titles: Champions’s League, EURO, World Cup). Both also missed a couple of titles because they missed crucial chances or penalties. It becomes an obsession. The tears in Robben’s eyes showed how much these misses were eating on him.
Totally agree Scherp.
Yes, Robben deserved it, and Bayern deserved it. Bayern was this year indeed Europe’s best team, and they played their probably best season sínce the times of Beckenbauer and Müller.
Serie A - Genoa coach caught spying on Sampdoria ahead of derby
A coach from Serie A side Genoa was caught spying on local rivals Sampdoria dressed in camouflage gear ahead of their derby clash on Sunday.
Luca De Pra, a Genoa youth-team coach and nephew of Giovanni De Prà, the club’s finest ever goalkeeper, was suspended by Genoa after being caught hiding in the bushes at Sampdoria’s training ground Bogliasco on Friday.
