The films of Lucio Fulci
I think it was on The INTER-OCEAN label as I recall.

One of my best films I managed to get on this label was WEAPONS OF DEATH, with Mr . Mean Henry Silvia.
Your right it was Inter-ocean, i too had a Weapons of death but it was cut down to fit in a box!

I doubt Weapons of death could be released uncut nowadays, the castration scene in the prison was quite grim!

A crowd called Trash-Online are selling it complete with the castration scene. Anyone had any dealings with them? Are they reliable?

I belive it’s either Stranger in Town or Stranger Returns.

Well, I would agree with that it is a very graphic scene.

Thanks for that.

I have a Zombie zip-up hoodie which is totally bad ass.

Anyhow, I’ve not seen any of Fulci’s work since roughly 2000-2001. I owned quite a few DVDS but they were cheap quality. $10 DVDS for example. I’d rather own definite releases if possible. i’ve not watched any of his SW films.

Gates of Hell
Seven Doors of Death
The House by the Cemetery
^^ I’ve only seen these films only once and I’m pretty sure the versions I owned were cut
Zombie (I’ve owned twice, 2 different DVD editions)

Also, is ‘Don’t Torture a Duckling’ the film where the murderer speaks in a 'Donald Duck" type voice? does this sound familiar? It may not be a Fulci film but i’m certain it’s Italian

The murderer with the donald duck voice is in Fulci’s “NEW YORK RIPPER” so you was close

I opened a thread concerning this same seller some time ago, I have not purchased anything from him yet though.

Very hard tape to find now.

The person who bought mine as I remember worked for a firm that rips old Italian titles.

That spider bit in THE BEYOND gives me the creeps.

The main kid in THE HOUSE BY CEMETREY popped up in a 1980’s futeristic film I have recently seen the trailer to, but just cannot remember the title, any ideas?

You might be thinking of The New Barbarians (2019, I Nuovi Barbari) from 1982? I used to have that howler on tape :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and when someone made a comment about the really apalling dubbing job for the kid, well, it’s always been common for kids (even male ones) to be dubbed by women. This happens with most animated stuff too.

Thanks for the info.

Interesting what you said about the dubbing. I did not know that.

Always intrigues me when you watch the old dubbed films and you hear the same voices, but the actors are different.

I know what you mean about hearing the same voices! (And that’s another thing that happens a lot with the animated stuff too). I could swear tho, that sometimes (mainly in SW’s and old martial arts films) particular voice actors have dubbed the same screen actors repeatedly.

i did mention a few posts back that Giovanni Frezza was in The New Barbarians.

Yes, you are right about the same voices and actors in certain films, and thats when it really confuses you on the occasion you hear them in a different dubbed voice from their usual dubbed voice in a film !

.

And it can be so confusing with so many languages flying around. For example, i always assumed that Peter Lee Lawrence would be speaking German in most films. Then, on seeing some of the films with a German audio track, the words didn’t seem to fit, so someone had obviously dubbed him. And of course the Italian tracks were different guys again. In the English versions the words were mostly in synch with his lips but obviously were being spoken by someone else, so it was REALLY strange when i came across a film where he was actually speaking in English in his own voice…

Well, you have touched on some really interesting points here, which I have to admit I did not know.

But I suppose it all adds to the interest that make these films so individual, unique or whatever , if you know what I mean.

I do! Still, at least with these films, the dialogue seems to be pretty much the same in each language. Unlike some of the martial arts films

I have not seen many martial arts films.

Do you like the spaghetti westerns that combine martial arts elements, say like THE FIGHTING FISTS OF SHANGHAI JOE?

You may be able to tell me this, I had a martial arts film on VHS once, and I cannot remember the exact correct title.

But, it was something like THE MASTER OF THE FLYING GUILOTENE and it was A BIG BOX OLD U.K pre- cert title.

Anyway, to cut it short, I was really impressed with this film, some really good fight sequences in and very intense at times.
