Yes, the quality is of course not as bad as it could be in comparison to some others. But I guess I am getting spoiled on the amazing amount of fandubs/edits that are available these days.
The picture is not terrible in that scene, but a lot of the video is pretty bad in other places.
One of my favorite scenes from a favorite director, and I was hoping to go back and get the scene in better quality from the Wild East “One Damned Day” - but alas, it is nowhere to be found.
Would love to upgrade several Fidanis really… watching They Came To Kill Sartana now and it is a fandub, but the video has that jerky/stepping playback in the motion that is really obnoxious- seems a lot of the available Fidanis have these issues.
I think it must be.
Hunt Powers and Dean Stratford were only in two Fidani films together (I think).
In One Damned Day at Dawn… there is a similar stand-off on the same windy street but against a Mexican?

I voted Barrel Full of Dollars but it’s a real close race between that one and Dead Men Don’t Make Shadows! Enjoyed the absurdity of Savage Guns, as well, although I enjoy the Django/Sartana spin offs a bit less, overall.
I love this guy’s movies, but have a real hard time with Anything for a Friend. For me this is by far his worst film, even worse than his cut & paste job Django Story.
The rest of his westerns all get sufficient marks from me.
His giallo is ok and I had some fun with Karzan (indeed a spaghetti Tarzan). Saw a softcore film of him once, which was sort of enjoable too.
I remember renting ‘Fistful of Death’ from Blockbuster many years ago…back when the only Spaghetti’s that seemed to be available were the bad ones. Well, Fistful of Death was a bad one. It committed the worse crime of all. It was BORING! I swear that I needed 3 viewings to get through the whole thing. The biggest question is of course, why did I go back!?
The way I see it, Ed ora… raccomanda l’anima a Dio placed first is not at all convincing and Era Sam Wallash… lo chiamavano ‘E così sia’ in 3rd last place is definitely underrated.
