:newspaper: NEW STUFF IN AND AROUND THE SWDB IN :spiral_calendar: DECEMBER 2022:

A great spaghetti year 2022 ends, off to 2023 :fireworks:
This past year was a busy year for The Spaghetti Western Database. Together with many contributors from around the world we improved the quality of the information in the database (titles, names, pictures and posters), we added numerous reviews, articles and interviews and in the second half of the year started working on SWDb 3.0 which is now rolling out. We also spent countless ours making our home video calendar the most complete, up to date and trusted source for home video releases of spaghetti westerns anywhere in the world. And the forum was busy every day. As we look at a new year, we hope that the time we spend on the SWDb we don’t have to share with news of wars, death, pandemics and hate in this world. From everyone at the SWDb we wish you a peaceful, healthy and prosperous new year!

:clipboard: … as always: join the SWDb, help out, it will make it better  You don’t have to become a full time editor or official staff member to contribute. Anything from being active in the forum over correcting spelling mistakes to joining entire improvement projects is more than welcome. From all over the world, in all languages, we welcome help!

:cowboy_hat_face: SWDb 3.0
The major overhaul of the SWDb has entered its first step. It comes with many under-the-hood improvements that make the site work better, but it also brings some overdue visual improvements of the SWDb, notably the film pages and other things. If you’re interested in seeing what we’re doing or if you want to join and help, click here to read about it: Testing SWDb 3.0

:dvd: New and upcoming discs:
There were many home video releases in December

this included the two final Explosive Media mediabook releases and Ennio made the jump to 4K in Italy while it came out in theaters in Germany.
There are a few titles we can look forward to in January

the highlights are of course the two UK releases of Sergio Sollima’s Run Man Run and The Big Gundown respectively. There are a few re-releases and Hannie Caulder arrives on BluRay in France.

:church: Boot Hill Cemetery.
Our head of obits, the spaghettiologist @Tom_B had to update the boot hill cemetery with an unfortuante 16 new obituaries over the course of the last four weeks, this included maestro Ruggero Deodato.

We can use some extra help improving the quality and quantity of soundtrack info on the database, please get in touch! Tracklists, vinyl covers, release news, availability and more, would be great to have in the SWDb. In the meantime, check out the new Vinyl release of the THE GRAND DUEL soundtrack here. The home video release calendar (see above) lists a handful of soundtrack releases this year.
