There are a few westerns that have a more advanced/civilized city/town settings. “The Wild Bunch” and “Hang Em High” come to mind, but also the spaghetti western “Day of Anger” which had a setting more akin to a developed city, rather than the usual derelict town common in SWs.
Are there any more spags that have a more civilized setting? or just DoA?
Can you elaborate a bit more what you mean? The only thing about DoA that stands out is that the town was a rather cleaned up specimen, but still a wild west town
Yeah, sure. There are fancy houses that are part of the town, there are larger fancier casinos and saloons. Everything is fancier, from the architecture to the wallpapers and decoration. People also have clear jobs and routines, and it’s more organized. It’s just overall less basic, less limited. Everything about it is more advanced/developed than the towns in other spags i’ve seen and more similar to the american films i mentioned. It’s far from the derelict towns of for a few dollars more, or rio bravo (to mention an american example).
