Spaghetti Western saloon songs

We have many topics about favorite soundtracks and favorite Spagh theme songs, but no one ever really talks about the songs performed during the saloon scenes.

What are your favorite saloon songs? Which ones do you hate?

My top 3 favorite are:

  1. The Only Girl He Loved from Seven Guns for a Massacre
  2. Gringo from Gunfight at Red Sands
  3. Wishville from 7 Dollars on the Red

I don’t think I have a least favorite saloon song, but there’s one that made me laugh because it was so bad. I think it was in Day of Anger

The worse the song, the more entertaining it is for me …

‘Dynamite Joe’ is a pretty good / bad one

Find a Place to Die, though it’s not really a saloon in this scene. But it’s a really good one.

Worth a mention as it’s so incongruous but perhaps apt in the most singular of spaghetti westerns - and that’s the one from ‘Django Kill’ (‘Se sei vivo spara!’), performed in the style of a Billie Holiday jazz standard from the 1940s.

Just the one I was thinking of…
