Spaghetti Western Festival

I would like to organize a Spaghetti Western Festival in Zurich, Switzerland, as a long-term project (2016, 2017 or 2018 - it depends on its size). Are there any interested persons from abroad? If so, how long in advance do you have to know the dates and which month of the year would be suitable for you? It would be great that the likely visitors could make their own festival program due to film lists and polls. It’s only an idea but I will tackle it step by step. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

I would love to restrict the film choice to Non-Leone-SW because I’ve seen the Leone-SW several times at the cinema but I really missed the Corbuccis, the Sollimas etc.

What do you think of it? It would be arguable to show also more or less SW like Cemetery Without Crosses, hybrids of SW like Turkish Western or US-Western inspired by SW like High Plains Drifter as long as the SW fans would like to see that and if it is possible to get the film rights and the films. But actually, I would prefer to show SW like:

Mercenario - Sergio Corbucci
Il grande silenzio - Sergio Corbucci
Django - Sergio Corbucci
Vamos a matar, compañeros - Sergio Corbucci
Anda muchacho, spara! - Aldo Florio
Preparati la bara! - Ferdinando Baldi
Da uomo a uomo - Giulio Petroni
La resa dei conti - Sergio Sollima
Faccia a faccia - Sergio Sollima
I giorni dell’ira - Tonino Valerii
Keoma - Enzo G. Castellari
Johnny Hamlet - Enzo G. Castellari
Il ritorno di ringo - Ducci Tessari
Se sei vivo spara - Giulio Questi
Gli fumavano le Colt… lo chiamavano Camposanto - Giuliano Carnimeo
Testa t’ammazzo, croce… sei morto - Mi chiamano Alleluja - Giuliano Carnimeo
Una nuvola di polvere… un grido di morte… arriva Sartana - Giuliano Carnimeo
Dove si spara di più - Gianni Puccini
E Dio disse a Caino… - Antonio Marghereti

There are probably two possibilities:

  • to organize a SW Festival for 3 days where there would be shown 9 to 15 films
  • to organize a SW film series during a month at an arthouse cinema where there would be shown 15 to 25 films

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Is nobody interested in a Spaghetti Western Festival or is Zurich for a holiday trip too far away? Are there any proposals concerning the organization or the film choice? Would you show the films in Italian with English Subtitles or in English (with German subtitles)?

Zurich is to far away for me

I would add:

Blindman
Cimitero senza croci
Sentenza di morte
Sledge
Navajo Joe
Lo voglio morto
Per 100.000 dollari t’ammazzo
The Bounty Killer
Ognuno per sè
Indio Black, sai che ti dico: sei un gran figlio di…

In my opinion Testa t’ammazzo, croce… sei morto - Mi chiamano Alleluja should be replaced by Buon funerale, amigos!.. paga Sartana. If there are objections to its inclusion, Sledge could be replaced by Garringo.

Thanks a lot for your input and your proposals!
