Sound effects

I’m new here, but not new to the genre. I’m making a short independent spaghetti western-style film and am looking for a particular pistol sound effect. You know the one I’m talking about; the squeaky gun shot sound that came from Lee Van Cleef’s pistol in “For a Few Dollars More” and was featured prominently in “Django.” I believe that the sound effects are half the film- Even though two characters may fire the same type of firearm in the same circumstances and the same caliber, their pistols will deliver a different sound. How pure the genre is, that the sound effect matched the character, not the gun. As common as this sound is in spaghetti westerns, I can’t seem to find it anywhere on the internet. Do any of you know where a fellow might find a resource for some of these classic sounds?

Thank you! That was enormously helpful! May I ask how you got this? It’s beautiful! I’ll keep you guys posted on the movie, I’m sure you’ll like it.

I got it from Shobary’s site, he posted in the guest book.

Wow, that first one almost sounds like a reverb tank getting kicked.
