The first time I watched Santee, I didn’t like it that much. However, I recently watched it for a second time and I thought it was an excellent western. The soundtrack is great in my opinion: Santee - YouTube

Yes bit like you really enjoyed it more on a repeat viewing, and was helped by viewing a widescreen print aswell.
Do you have the German DVD? I might get around to buying it eventually. The US one is out of print now and ridiculously expensive.I watched it on VHS and still really enjoyed it. I love the cover, too. Here’s my tape:

I find that sound quality is superior on VHS tapes to many DVDs. I can watch a VHS tape and the dialogue and music go well together but there’s many DVDs with quiet dialogue and loud music. I’ve never had to keep using the volume on my remote with VHS.
