Marco Giusti has announced the passing of Italian producer, director and screenwriter Tonino Ricci (aka Ted Richmond) yesterday March 9th in Rome. One of the best of the Italian ‘B’ directors he was known for his kung-fu, post-atomic war and Spaghetti westerns. He was 87. Ricci directed such Euro-westerns as “The Great Treasure Hunt”, “Karate, Fists and Beans” and his White Fang trilogy: “White Fang to the Rescue”, “Buck at the Edge of Heaven” and “Buck and the Magic Bracelet”. He also was co-writer on some of these along with “Showdown for a Badman”. He also served on several Euro-westerns such as $10,00 for a Massacre Ciccio Forgives… I Don’t and The Nephews of Zorro.
R.I.P…The Great Treasure Hunt is my favourite of his.
