He met a scene painter who gave him the opportunity to work at Ponti De Laurentis film studio. He found his calling in life and became the head scene painter on a many Italian films including “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, “Once Upon a Time in the West”, “Sacco and Vanzetti”, “Salon Kity”, “The Casandra Crossing”, “Keoma”, “The Black Stallion”, “For Your Eyes Only”, “Once Upon a Time in America”, “King David”, “Ginger & Fred”, “Tai-Pan”, “Lucky Luke”, “The Mission”, “Gangs of New York”, “Cold Mountain”, “The Black Dahlia”, “Body of Lies” to name a few. Ivano helped to write the history of Italian cinema not with a pen but with a brush.
