Companion piece to Hellman's The Shooting. Alledgedly influenced by the JFK assassination. It is also an Acid western or surreal western. Very strange one. Shot on a VERY low budget that might have even been cheaper than a fistful of dollars. Starring Jack Niocholson and Cameron Mitchell. Directed by Monte Hellman.
Nicholson wrote this one.
Ive seen the first portion of the film and I have to be honest when I say...Im in no hurry to see the rest. Granted theres always a chance Id dig it but....
Ive heard Tarantino loves this, I thought it was pretty boring though.
Good and unusual western, but The Shooting is the masterpiece.
