R.I.P. Legends Lost but Remembered

Leslie Nielsen and Irvin Kershner: R.I.P. :’(

I had to check what films he had directed, I didn’t remember Empire Strikes Back was directed by him.

I didn’t even known that, always assumed it was George Lucas

I only learned that roughly one or two years ago myself. Apparently he was the cast and crew’s favorite directors out of the three that worked on the original trilogy, says IMDB.

And empire just so happens to be the most highly regarded of the trilogy.

In the end it was George Lucas. I doubt that Kershner had much influence on the film.

oh God no… that is why it is such a good movie. It was not directed by Lucas.

Star Wars fans endlessly debate how much influance he had. the truth will probably be never fully know, just speculation. And personally I like Star Wars (1977) the best of all the films.

Lucas isn’t very good at directing his own movies. Just look at the prequel trilogy.

I know, masterpieces aren’t they! ;). Actuallly, I liked the Prequel Trilogy a lot. They don’t top the originals, but I think they’re very enjoyable.

Yeah I liked them too. They are enjoyable, in a bad sort of way though. The light saber fighting is way better.

I thought Phamtom Menace was shit, Attack of the clones passable and Sith was really good, quite a dark film in places.

I think the all three prequels or whatever you wanted to call them, lacked a little bit of charisma, I still remember watching the first ones in the cinema and how cool and unique those films were then, a space western, with talked about at school and we play star wars, the first ones were pure magic for me as child there was nothing similar to it at least that gavesuch a spetacular show.
Now with CGI and a lot of stuff playing around, the prequels were one more thing among so many others, and even if with a great cast, none of them look so perfect on the parts like the actors of the original movies, to be honest they spoiled some of the magic of the first three films for me (I do not know if I ever recover ;D), how odd can it be if you go back to the past and notice they had better looking ships and better effects.

I thought they were all pretty rubbish, but with some decent bits thrown in here and there. Very disappointing follow-up to the original trilogy.

Just could not get into the new ones at all really.

R.I.P. John Lennon…30 years ago today he was killed in New York.

Remember that day he was killed, everyone was talking about it.

I was born that year so can’t remember it

in doing some reading up on Lovecraft horror I found out that Theodore Eliopoulos aka Ted Sorel the antagonist in From Beyond passed away on November 30th in Englewood, NJ. RIP Ted you were first class in that movie.
