Priests, pastors, and nuns

Please tell me about the works in which pastors, priests, and nuns appear in addition to Django, Sabata, and my name is Pecos.

It doesn’t matter if it’s not a villain.

There are so many it’s probably difficult to even make a list. I’ll name a few that come to mind:

  • Fake nun in They Call Me Hallelujah
  • The protagonist of Requiescant comes from a family of traveling preachers and is one too
  • Lee Van Cleef in God’s Gun
  • Too Much Gold for One Gringo
  • Mormons in They Call Me Trinity

I ran out of titles already

Two priests (one half-crazed idealist and one fake) spring to mind: (1) El Santo from ‘A Bullet for the General’: “Christ died between two thieves, didn’t he? Christ was always with the poor and downtrodden! If you were a good priest you’d do the same!” (2) Brother Baldwin from ‘Death Sentence’: “You see, brother… Providence has infused strength into these hands of mine… so I can punish sinners with them… Watch!”

This is a very interesting and difficult question, because there are so many Christian protagonists and supporting characters in spaghetti westerns.

In addition to the films already mentioned, the following films come to mind in particular, with priests playing significant roles:

- Referendo Colt

- Posate le pistole… Reverendo

- Il figlio di Django

- Il giustiziere di Dio

- Che c’entriamo noi con la rivoluzione?

- Jesse & Lester due fratelli in un posto chiamato Trinità

- Così sia

When it comes to nuns, the film “Più forte sorelle” comes to mind. Also, “7 Monks in Kansas City.”

If you are also looking for films featuring monks, there are of course many more…
