He certainly was still annoying but i do find him more annoying in HBTC

Ah yes the whining… ;).
But in “The new barbarians” he’s playing smartass, that’s quite difficult to watch as well 
I guess the most “respected” film with a post-apocalyptic theme is The Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky.
Personally, I love this film. They were really hardcore too. They actually shot somewhere in Estonia, I believe, where there was a former toxic power plant. Many of the actors, including the director, died young from the poisoning - some speculate.
