As far as I can see the only the thing PLL and Dicaprio have in common is their youthful appearance. I respect Dicaprio as an actor, but I don’t think he is even close to having the masculinity or toughness that PLL had.
PETER LEE LAWRENCE I like over 95% of ALL his Films and Find PLL Electric/magic.
Leonardo DiCaprio I LIke ONLY The Quick & The Dead 1995 and Find him Mildly OK :’(
Garringo
Great movie starring two of the most prolific SW actors. More depth and complexity to the characters than usual. Great story and score. PLL does a fine job playing someone with split personality. A very accurate depiction of serial killers as most SK’s are completely normal save for the fact that they murder people. Interesting to see Jose Bodalo play a good guy in this one.

I could not have put it better myself or voted any different for GARRINGO 1969.
Any SW that has the NUMBER 1 Leading man paired with the NUMBER 3 Leading Man
is almost guaranteed to be exceptionally pleasing and classic in all departments.
Sartana, I’m so glad you’re around to confirm that I am not the only one who thinks PLL was a very special actor.
I actually received a copy of Garringo yesterday and was excited to watch it since it’s one of PLL’s films that I really want to see. Of course, the dvd I got doesn’t work with my dvd player. So I orderd a vhs copy and hopefully that will arrive within the next two weeks.
This is off topic, but I know there were post about Alain Delon before and I was just wondering if anyone ever heard of the french actor Jean Sorel(Belle De Jour).
Yes, i remeber him from Corbucci’s “the man who laughs” and Fulci’s “one on top of the other” and "a lizard in a woman’s skin’.

There are MANY forumites and growing numbers that LIKE/LOVE PETER LEE LAWRENCE
Dean , another is Silver who has posted photos of PLL /contributed to threads plus
some deputies (I heard). We are in good company for sure, PLL’s immense talent lives.
Jean Sorel I am familiar with and as Alko posted Sorel has been prominent in many super
Giallos/Thrillers 60s/70s including with Carroll Baker etc.
Well, I’m glad there are other fans out there. I’m so glad I somehow managed to just stumble upon him.
I was wondering about the Sorel thing because he got some comparisons to Delon.
YES there is no greater compliment paid to any actor than to be compared to the
GREAT INTERNATIONAL STYLISH CULT ACTOR : ALAIN DELON
PETER LEE LAWRENCE a superstar who can be compared to Alain Delon

For some reason, Delon was the first actor I thought of when I first saw PLL in a film. Of course they are two completely different actors. I was also reminded of James Dean, but PLL never over did it with the brooding like Dean had a tendency to do sometimes.
I’ve read a couple of reviews for PLL and it seems like people really have a problem with his looks. I guess many people will just refuse to take any handsome(especially young looking) actor seriously no matter how good they are. I’ve seen some unfair reviews of Delon’s work also.

I finally got to see the film this pic was from. Johnny Kid was a pretty good role for PLL. I like the Romeo and Juliet like theme.

It does seem to be the case a lot with PLL. I guess most people feel that an SW leading man should be more rugged or physically imposing, although…how big and strong do you have to be to shoot people?
I think he was pretty capable in the more physical scenes myself…
He was boyish in the face, but if you notice he actually had a muscular, athletic build which made him more credible as a tough guy.
His Birthday yesterday.
True…and he did do some pretty impressive physical stuff in some of his films.
Yes, such a shame he was alive for so short a time. Wonder if/how his career would have prgressed had he lived.
Yes…interesting question this one…
PETER LEE LAWRENCE had he lived beyond April 1974 would have become for me
A Major Prolific SUPERSTAR with credits of over 140 films SWS GIALLOS THRILLERS CULT.
Peter was extremely watchable/likeable in Italian/Spanish/English/German Films
His versatile persona and vast ability on screen would have flourished into
EVEN MORE GREATNESS

RECOMMENDED SW :
Ad Uno A Uno Spietatamente 1968

To be honest there are a good amount of PLL’s films that I really don’t like and PLL is the only reason I sit through them. I also think that PLL looks like he is being poorly directed in some films and will probably come off as wooden to some people.
Dean have you been on the BOOZE like the REV ? ??? >:(
What are you talking about PETER LEE LAWRENCE “films don’t like” which films are
you lamenting about ??
PLL made 17 SWs which I find are as good as any SWs KILLER ADIOS 68 GARRINGO 69.
PLL made some war/gangster films which are NOT as good as his Great SWs but still OK.
PLL was NOT involved in any of those CRAPPY/ARTY/TALKY drama that bore to sleep and
twisted critics love, then an undeserved oscar is handed out. All pretentious nonsense.
I am looking through his credits now and find I like OVER 90% of PLL Films and more.
If you want to make a constructive meaningful criticism then GO INTO DETAIL not just
inaccurate feeble statements. WHICH Film ? WHICH Director ? WHY was it poor . Explain.

Just to be clear. Expressing an opinion different to your own SD does not constitute an ‘inaccurate feeble statement’. Let’s not go down that road again please.
