I also wanted to reply to Bill saying I agree with not caring about the Oscars or award shows in general. I don’t need some committee to tell which film or director they feel is the best.

I’m sure most of us would agree, but the information could be useful the next time you have to defend SWs against charges of worthlessness (sadly, that attitude persists - more people need to visit this site).

Another winner: Vittorio Storaro, who shot Brothers Blue/The Blue Gang, went on to win three Oscars.

Can you believe that Gianni Garko’s almost won an oscar too. Well sort of. 1959’s Kapo was nominated for best foreign film.

I completely agree on this, and many (most) Oscars are politically motivated.
To be frank I don’t care at all about that award.
