“Funeral Doom metal”

Just curious - how does this differ from regular doom metal?

Folk music from Peru is pretty good as well

Oh yeah! Love it!
Inti Illimani and Guamary are among some of my favorite groups.

take the gruff death metal vocals of a My Dying Bride and slow the tempo to a funeral march and that is Funeral Doom

Frank, I’m going on a limb here & guessing you like Metal? :o

just a bit… what gave it away?

I enjoy…
rock & roll (particularly classic rock, Pink Floyd, early Fleetwood Mac, Yardbirds, Clapton, Allman Bros., etc.), blues (Magic Sam, Hound Dog Taylor, Roy Buchanan), jazz (everything from Danny Gatton to Charlie Parker), classical (esp. Bach), reggae, New Orleans music…
…anything but newer pop and rap, and I am not fond of country, either (though some old country & western is not bad).

In short, there is not much music made after approximately 1980 that I really enjoy.

@Peruvian music:

Here is a video of a Peruvian folk group at my home town’s annual folk life festival. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing these guys many times and they’re always great.

Been listening to some Arabic music. Great stuff! Just can’t get enough of it.

:o Arabian music? :o
The Arabs can keep it, ;D.

I don’t think i mentioned it, but I do like the band, The Doors, which is unusual, as I don’t normally like that kind of music.

No, gotta love Oum Kalthoum! Love Arab culture.

Speaking of the middle east, anyone got recipes for good Arabic food or baklavas?

[quote=“Silence, post:33, topic:2234”]No, gotta love Oum Kalthoum! Love Arab culture. There is a guy here from the middle east I’ve heard about who owns a kiosk. He sometimes turns on the radio really high on the street and smokes a cigar ;D. Hope he shows up soon ;).

Nope but I know a guy who makes nice Burkas ;D

[quote=“Silence”]That’s women’s clothes! I would need stuff like this ;):

I was thinking of your nice Sweden girlfriend Silence, not for you ;D
