Life Is Tough, Eh Providence? / La vita, a volte, è molto dura, vero Provvidenza? (Giulio Petroni, 1972)

Still not viewed either of these and been in my to watch pile for over two years…maybe next year  .

This is one film with some far out scenes. Bit better than I thought it would be, but some scenes go on for to long. Milian is irritating at times, but makes up for it with some inventive scenes. The pool table scene and the end scene with the James Bond style carriage were fun to watch. Morricone updates his music for the 70’s. Not much variety in the themes, but the main theme is a pleasant one. Film trys a little to hard at times, but this one is for when you are in a lightweight kind of mood.

Watched it today, the RHV dvd.

Good fun! 7/10

Interesting pictures and article (in italian).

I like Providence films. I think problem with sw comedies is that most spaghetti actors weren’t that good with comedy. Hill & Spencer were great and especially good together, George hilton was also good in serious as well as in comedic films. And so was Tomas Milian. Gregg Palmer ain’t bad but this is completely Tomas Milian’s show. You can really see him enjoy doing the role. Crazy and funny film with fitting soundtrack by Morricone. Sequel was even crazier and better as far as I remember.

Revisited this recently. Looking back on my first rating, I had it as one of the worst films ever. I found it much better this time but still…

Is this really Carla Mancini?

There are a lot of stuntmen/bit part actors listed in the DB which I did not spot but with so many people flying around they could all be there I suppose. Both Aldo and Arnaldo Dell’Acqua are listed. Aren’t they the same and which Dell;Acqua is this ?

It’s Arnaldo, Aldo in this case is only a diminutive.

Judging from this peculiar facial expression ‎I do not think it’s her, ‎but I have to see the scene.

Thanks, I thought that, Usually it’s one or the other but have seen both listed a couple of times.

It’s a really short scene but I couldn’t really see as Carla, but maybe I was distracted by the bubbles

I liked this one a lot. What is the sequel called?

Never mind, I found it. Disappointed to see there’s no English friendly DVD. Anybody have a copy?

The fifth and lesser-known Dell’Acqua brother is Franco, a specialist in fire stunts.

Here they are, 50 years later (November 2017)

This is the funniest movie ever made.

I know, my sides were aching so much laughing, I had to turn it off after only 10 minutes!

I feel your pain.
I laughed so hard I accidentally pressed the eject button half way through, and the disc found its way back into the case :open_mouth:

I recently received the "Le pistole non discutono (western collection). ctually, I bought it for myself as a “Sinterklaas” present. Nice if you can pick your own present

This was the first out of the box I wanted to watch. Yesterday evening I finally had my chance. I knew the music over 30 years and all that time i was curious about the movie behind it.
Now I have mixed feelings because I watched the movie. I got no Spaghetti Western feeling at all. I mean, the landscape, towns and dressing were of the period but the rest… I don’t know. Probably cashing in on the Hill-Spencer vehicles but far more worse.

First, the bounty receving and liberating actions were allready done in the GBU.
Second, the teaming is like Hill (in this case Milian) - Spencer (Palmer)
Third: the christian settlers (in that case mormons) were used in Lo chiamavano Trinità
Fourth: Just swallowed the organ and robot of Sartana and now a complete carriage as war material.

I am afraid still in shock about whether or not I like this movie and where to place it.

It’s pretty much a Trinity rip-off but Milian’s weird Chaplin-like character makes it stand out of all those lousy copies they made these days. Sequel is crazier and better.
