Damn, these HK actors are hard-working. Simon Yam seems to be in almost every movie I see from that territory. It’s like in the old Shaw Brothers days (and the SW’s heyday, of course).
I watched SB’s Rendezvous with Death last night, for example, and sure enough there was Ku Feng and a number of other familiar faces. I know they had contracts to fulfil, but even so, the work rate of those guys was phenomenal.
The film itself was fun, overloaded with inventive fight scenes. I didn’t care much for leading man Wong Yu - he was too smug for my liking, and he fought for most of the time with a modified umbrella, which looked rather silly - but Lo Lieh was on hand as a shifty beggar. Not a patch on Avenging Eagle, the only other Sun Chung film I’ve seen, but satisfying enough.
One could argue there are even more good ones than westerns…I guess depends on what you mean by “good”…I saw a great one the other day 7 Grandmasters…Classic old school KF. Although Li Yi-min was a little annoying through most of the movie.
kung fu films can forgoten very easy there is no big number of good ones
like westerns…
I know that is your opinion and you are welcome to it; but, I have to say that I do not agree with you, at all.
You obviously haven’t seen very many real Kung Fu films.

Interesting list.
Of all those titles, I would only consider a few of them classics. And some of them (the Ninja films–with the exception of Chang Cheh’s FIVE ELEMENT NINJAS) I wouldn’t consider Kung Fu films, at all.
But, that is what makes being a film fan interesting—everyone sees things in their own way and no two film fans will like exactly the same things.
I agree that it is hard to make a list of only 20 top Spaghetti Westerns.
But, I think I could make a Top 50 Kung Fu films list without too much trouble.
Try these. Imo all better than most of your top 10:
Soul of the Sword, Killer Constable, New One Armed Swordsman, The Loot, Along Comes the Tiger, Marco Polo, Crippled Avengers, Avenging eagle, Invincible Pole Fighter, Shanghai 13, Invincible Armour, Secret Rivals, Strife for Mastery, Have Sword will Travel, Magnificent Ruffians…

i have all seen them and some of those are in mt worst
thanks anyway
Game of Death 2 and Iron Fisted Monk really strong? Seriously!? ??? I’m very curious. Which of those made your worst list? More classics I didn’t see on your best list that are top KFs: Fist of Legend, Tai Chi Master, The Heroes (1980), Shaolin vs lama,Last Hurrah for Chivalry, Legend of a Fighter, Secret Service of the Imperial Court,Flying Guillotine 2, Masked Avengers,Delightful Forest, Opium and the Kung Fu Master…
It’s a genre that might not be everybody’s cup of tea, but there’s a huge number of well-made kung-fu films available for viewing. The Asian market has been insatiable for decades and there’s a massive global demand. To suggest that there is little quality on offer is just plain foolishness.
While I’m sure your list is a fair reflection of your personal tastes, to me it seems a pretty poor assessment of the best the kung-fu genre has to offer. There are a lot of notable omissions, and if you don’t feel, for example, that the likes of Master of the Flying Guillotine, 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Drunken Master, Enter the Dragon or The Chinese Connection deserve to rank, you should at least be aware a lot of people feel differently.
Sartana68, I find it hard for someone to watch ‘over 300’ movies of a specific genre & then claim to only like around 10 of them. :-\ It seems you are more partial to the Ocean Shores style of Fu releases over the Shaw Brothers stuff. A very interesting opinion to say the least. But that is your preference. I’m just confused why someone would continue to watch so many movies of a genre that you appear to not like that much. I must say, I’ve never met anyone who liked Kung Fu movies & not like movies like 5 Deadly Venoms, 8 Diagram PoleFighter, Drunken Master or even Fatal Needles, Fatal Fists.
from game of death 2 i liked the choreography and not the movie also the legend hwang jang lee
and for the invisible armour yes! this also was a very good kung fu film
i watch kung fu most for the choreography and not the faces or the plots
non stop and explosive choreography! and sammo hung and yen woo ping was both the best ones for this job
and of course the legendary hwang jang lee
