WONDERFUL Klaus Kinski Thread starting detailed post Cactus !!

Klaus Kinski was indeed a prolific Top Class ACTOR who made so many truly CLASSIC Fab

SWS GIALLOS WESTERNS THRILLERS EXPLOITATION HORROR/SCIFI EDGAR WALLACE

We will use your Kinski superb Career Filmography as reference from now on.

I will add more comments later

He was a one off for sure. No one had the same manic presence as the little blonde Pole. And despite some of his ‘just for the money’ outings he built a terrific body of work including some genuine classics.
Always good value.

Say SD, now you are surprising me again.

Haven’t you said last year that Kinski (together with Trintignant) is a second rate actor who helped to ruin The Great Silence (which deserved a better cast in your opinion)?

If you like i’ll cut and paste his entire filmography here.

YES Please do that Cactus as Klaus Kinski’s full filmography is one of the best around.

As I read his Film credits down the years I find myself liking well over 95% + of his films.
The only other Great actors that match that feat are
PETER CUSHING Horror master.
CHRISTOPHER LEE Horror master
STEWART GRANGER Romantic Adventures master.
ROD TAYLOR Tough Action master.
CHRISTOPHER GEORGE Tough Action master.
And the Great SW/Western Leading men :
PETER LEE LAWRENCE, RICHARD HARRISON , ANTHONY STEFFEN, AUDIE MURPHY

Maybe 1 or 2 others.

Full Filmography please on Klaus Kinski

Stanton will you please stop revealing all my “dark secrets” from the past ?
I did criticise the Film because I am really not very keen on Trintignant & Vonetta McGee
as leading stars of the Great Silence 1968 , but I should not be saying anything about
Klaus Kinski because I always enjoy his wonderful performances in ALL SWS/Giallos etc.
My better cast would have been to remove Trintignant & McGee and replace them with
Steffen/Harrison and Luciana Paluzzi/Nicoletta Macchiavelli but thats just my view
The film itself Great Silence 1968 is a top class , well made SW, gritty, realistic.

For me too. With Trintignant and McGee.

Trintignant (an astonishingly good Nero substitute) is clearly preferable over Steffen/Harrison.

Machiavelli is always a good idea, but as a black woman?

You “funny” not JOKER Stanton …achtung march…

You MISUNDERSTAND again with much mischief !
I SAID that for me Jean Louis Trintignant is NOT a SW Actor and a POOR Actor Overall.
I SAID that for me Vonetta McGee was NOT a Pleasing Leading Lady in SWs./TGS.

ANTHONY STEFFEN and RICHARD HARRISON are the number 1 and number 3
ALl Time SW LEADING MEN with DOZENS of Cult/Classic/Memorable SWs.
FACTS speak for themselves and as I said ALL SW fans owe maximum gratitude to
Anthony Steffen and Richard Harrison for the dedication/ greatness of their SWs/Films.

If any “pseudo non-intellectual” wants to tout Trintignant as “good” that is his
prerogative but FOR ME I have seen in Trintignant’s credits only maybe 4/5 OK Films.
ALAIN DELON is THE INTERNATIONAL FRENCH ACTOR .

THANKS Cactus Charlie

Klaus Kinski’s Full Filmography is truly impressive and exciting. So many Classics.

Not all, surely not all. Why should they?

Trintignant was always a charismatic actor with a wide range of genres and films.

In his heyday Trintignant made so damn many CULT GIALLO POLICIER films, from what I’ve seen he’s much more THE INTERNATIONAL FRENCH POPULAR CINEMA ACTOR (WHO DATED BARDOT) while Delon takes the “pseudo non-intellectual” prize SHOULD ANY SUCH BE AWARDED.

Delon may be the bigger celebrity/box-office draw of the two BUT THEN AGAIN CLINT EASTWOOD IS MORE POPULAR THAN RICHARD HARRISON, ISN’T HE?

I like both, Delon and Trintignant. But Delon more in his early days, up to the mid 70s.

ALAIN DELON 1932 INTERNATIONAL LEADING MAN 1960s 1970s 1980s GREAT

ALAIN DELON is as has been discussed the MAJOR FRENCH BOX OFFICE WORLD STAR with a prolific career through 30 years plus with CLASSIC GIALLOS/CULT/THRILLERS

SAMOURAI 1967 GIRL ON MOTORCYCLE 1968 FAREWELL FRIEND 1968

ALAIN DELON has the handsome screen presence, coolness, style , excellent acting talent

NEVER even mention INFERIOR pretenders like Jean Louis Trintignant / Ugly J P Belmondo
I repeat I have seen Trintignant’s credits and at most he had 4 or 5 FAIR/OK Films.
Trintignant also has no real screen “presence”/Handsome he looks embarassed to me.
“Dating Bardot” what is that supposed to be off screen ?
ALAIN DELON married/dated some real beauties in his time Natalie Delon, Mirelle Darc.

KLAUS KINSKI I have seen a GERMAN BOOK which chronicled his excellent Film career

YES Cactus you can count on me.
I have the book and if I can find it :o the ordering details I will post for you.
I can tell you that from memory it was a special project involving that Spanish fellow
Lucas Balbo whom I met at many movie fairs & he always had quality exploitation items.

Just name every JLT flick you ever saw and a “handsome” screen context shall emerge…

Gee Hud  we will just agree to say that :

Jean Louis Trintignant has had a varied career with some GOOD FILMS & Hud finds Jean
"handsome" along with many other JLT Fans no doubt.
JLT career in the 1960s/1970s did include SW (The Great Silence) & GOOD Thriller/Giallos.

KLAUS KINSKI Book or BROCHURE tribute By Lucas Balbo and others I bought years ago
along with a similar one on his daughter Nastassia Kinski and the great JACK PALANCE.
The question now is locating where in my house I have placed them.

You may have to get a detective in…I wonder who ;)…
