I Just Bought … (the SW Shopping Diary)

The UK BBFC confirmed to me that the subtitles of The Shoot (AI generated?) have the F and C words (which is why this has a 15 rating in the UK) and the subtitles of Winnetou and Shatterhand in the Valley of Death have the F word. So, something to look out for if watching in the original German with Englsih subtitles.

The edition I ordered is the Region A version, so maybe the subtitle translation won’t be an issue. I know certain releases from Arrow differed between the UK and US editions, mainly with content, but the subtitle stuff might fall under a different category. I’ll give both The Shoot and Valley of Death a quick scan and let everyone know.

What difference would that make in regards to what?

Doubt it - will be the same subtitles. however you will get the cruel horsefalls which are cut from the UK version (think 3 movies affected by this)

But are they cut or blacked (which can be tricked by setting the player to region a)

Yes I decided to put the individuals on ebay, as much as I like them they take up too much room and I prefer not having a slipcover over the slipbox

I just found a 2nd hand DVD copy of ‘Oltre il confine’ on Amazon for £5. Considering the only new copy was going for £599 I think I’ve got a real bargain… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Arrow Summer sale is here. Wanted a few of their US exclusive titles so added in Django 4K while I was at it.

Still waiting for my rewards points to be applied before I jump on this sale, which I really want to :))

Which one of the BluRay packages in the current Arrow sale (Vengeance Trails, Savage Guns Vol. 3, or Blood Money Vol. 2) is the most recommendable?
Of the included films, I’ve only seen “And God said to Cain”. I’ve heard good things about Massacre Time and 4 of the Apocalypse.

Simon says get the all, you bastard

I guess that’s good advice. But I have to choose one, as I also want to get some other stuff (like the Ringo films on BluRay for example). I guess I’ll go with the Vengeance Trails pack as a starter, and buy all volumes of the others in one go next time. Would buy all the Spaghetti Westerns they have if I could.

I’d say Vol 1 and 2 were strongest. Although Four of the Apocalypse is great. All a matter of taste, of course.
