I have to admit, it was curiosity that drove my purchase. I’ve seen a majority of the Karl May based films so I wanted to check out what they were doing on the other side of the wall and I fully expect to find the propaganda in the films amusing. I just read that somewhere else about the aspect ratio but, as in the case with many Euro-Westerns, sometimes you have to watch what is available.
I have that set and have quite enjoyed the films.
I never really saw too much overt socialist content but then I’m a lifetime leftie so maybe less sensitive to it. The main thrust I saw was the good guys are the Indians and the bad guys are the land grabbing white men which I suppose is an anti-imperialist stance but then the soviets were good at talking the anti-imperialist talk while building an empire that covered half of Europe.
can you check the spine artwork, reportedly there’s something wrong with these
What website did you order from?
Yes mine has the printing error, I checked as soon as I opened it. Gave me a good chuckle.
Amazon. It was actually meant to arrive yesterday but they lied.
can you post a photo of how severe exactly this is (personally I could care less)
oh ffs and nobody noticed that? how does the spine look like from the other side then
That spine error gives me the creeps!
I wonder if they’ll do a replacement program like they do with faulty discs
Doesn’t really bother me. Kinda like when the German Black Jack blu-ray said DANGO instead of DJANGO.
Absolutely. As long as they’re not all the same film when I stick them on, I couldn’t care less. They’re rare and collectible now! Maybe. Or not.
dang! the j is silent
Haha! You’ve got me worried now.
BLACK ACK
but to be honest, I hadnt noticed I just jumped up, ran to the shelf and behold… DANGO
