Being an animation fan, I have always loved ‘Watership Down’, so was extremely pleased to acquire this for a mere £1…

Also:

Lastly, someone was kind enough to give me their DVD copy of ‘Walkabout’, plus it’s tie-in paperback novelisation…

Made my first Vinegar Syndrome order:

Very excited for ‘They Call Her Death’ as it looks to be very SW inspired. The trailer looks rad as hell.

My first thought at the cover as well. I am curious what you think of this one

I couldn’t believe my luck today when I picked up this 1960’s BBC TV series for a mere 50p…it originally aired on TV from 1966-67.
It’s a fitting tribute to Gerald Harper, who died recently, aged 96…

That’s a really good find, Toscano. Not sure how well the series stands up these days as haven’t seen it for many years but certainly of interest to find out.

Thank you, Phil.
I originally bought the series when it came out over ten years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s well dated now, of course, but still has an engaging charm all of its own. It is also (like most old progs are), a unique snap-shot of life in the ‘Swinging 60’s’ London…a time capsule, so to speak.
My original ‘Adam Adamant’ box-set was ‘seized’ by my ex, so I’m over-joyed now to have this quirky, unique series back in my collection.

Some new blurays…

I just took delivery of these two to add to my collection of film figures.

I picked this series up for a mere 25p yesterday, in a local charity shop…I’ve never seen the programme, but if it features gangsters, then I’ll give it a twirl. I’m curious to find out if it’s as good as ‘IMDB’ says it is…

ALSO, for 25p each…

Nice haul … I’d recommend ‘Boardwalk Empire’, but like many of these long series it starts to show signs of fatigue, and by series 4 this one does … but the first two installments are highly entertaining.

In the last few months I’ve been donating a lot of DVDs and BDs to charity shops, (a serious clear out of unnecessary stuff) and it bothers me that they’re being sold for so little - Much as we all love a bargain, 25p for a Blu Ray box set is rather stupid on the part of the shop.

I donate bits n’ pieces to my preferred shops, but often the staff haven’t much idea of the items real value, as 90% of the stock is Ladies and children’s clothes.

I suppose when there are so many collectors de-cluttering or upgrading to new formats, there is going to be a ‘DVD mountain’ of unwanted material.

I’m guessing I had close to 2000 discs, and I’d like to get that down to a more manageable 400 -ish … just keeping stuff I consider essential all time classics, plus all my SWs, no matter how crap some are.

Just giving my take on things and not trying to scold anyone for building up their film library … but when you move house, and you’re carrying endless boxes full of watched once titles, you have a heart condition and arthritis, your opinion on excess collecting may change drastically.

I just moved an know the feeling. We try to sell lot of DVD’s but thre is hardly any market for speciallities, unless you want something special yourself.
Maybe it is because we bought expensive VHS tapes, CD’s and DVD’s but die to streaming a lot is commomly available but still we want to have some fund return. Also, renting a VHS a couple years back was more expensibe than currently a month of Netflix.
Same with books. Bith quality books for children as well as adults. Almost no interest.

So after a year on a digial market place it is shipped to the charity shop so they can sell it.And that works because the nex visit most of it is allready gone.

Boardwalk Empire is a great show! Has its ups and downs but absolutely worth watching

Had to pick up this new Castellari and Nero restoration from Severin. I personally think it’s a fun heist film and the better of Castellari’s two shark movies. Always good fun when these guys team up.

You can never have too much Franco Nero, and him fighting off sharks is an interesting idea.

I preordered the whole Italian Sharksploitation “box” they are putting out. They should have gone for the German title for the above though. Jungle Django
