I Just Bought … (Non-SW Shopping Diary)

Not a movie, but an Italian ‘pop’ song from (1963) orchestrated by Ennio Morricone, whoever he may be !
Found this today on a charity shop outing … highly unlikely thing to turn up in my neighborhood, but an interesting find, as it’s a pre- SW recording by il maestro.

The title translates as ‘Taste of Salt’

That is a very cool find…and I even found myself bopping my head along to the song.

Excellent find. The B-side ‘La nostra casa’ has the orchestration and arrangement of Luis Enríque Bacalov too.

That is a dream charity shop find. Congrats Aldo.

Some new additions.

My pre-order arrived today. I do have Lady Frankenstein already (of course I do…it’s Rosalba!) but I’ve never seen the other three so I’m looking forward to diving in.

Some new John Woo.

Picked up this remastered release at a yard sale for $1.00 I was particularly intrigued because of all the nice extras including commentary from Sir Christopher himself. I am really interested to see what tidbits he has to offer. This is the first time I’ve come across this release so I was pretty excited to find it.

Just got these. Don’t know much about Kill Butterfly Kill. That slip looks cool though.

Be aware that they are doing a replacement program for Living Dead, keep an eye out for it so you can get the updated disc!

Yeah I remember reading something about that but forgot what was wrong with the release  Will have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up!

Apparently some mastering errors, making a lot of the reds of the film look very purple, plus some issues with black levels if I recall. Apart from that though its supposed to look great

A few cheap Blurays…

Plus this wonderful TV series from the Eighties…

I really liked Ex Machina and I was very unsure about it before I watched. It has a very deliberate slower pacing but it was one of those movies that really stuck with me afterward.

Yeah, I enjoyed that one too

Very happy to now have both the theatrical, and Director’s cut of ‘Doctor Sleep’ on a double-disc bluray - and all for a mere £1.

Some new pick-ups from various sources.

A Hammer film from Synapse that I’ve always wanted to see but never had the opportunity. Happy to finally have an opportunity to get my hands on this one.

Got a good deal on this one so I decided to upgrade my DVD. I’ve often wondered why Gastaldi didn’t direct more than he did as I thoroughly enjoy this one (admittedly, this one is in company with Vittorio Salerno but I still have to wonder).

Part of the same deal that brought me Gastaldi’s fine film. I’ve seen this one but never owned it.

A new bit of Korean cinema.

A $1.00 yard sale pick up to keep my MCU collection intact and a cheap way to satisfy my annoying completist nature.

‘Westworld’ has always been one of my favourite sci-films…way ahead of its time.

I haven’t seen ‘Bill and Ted’ for goodness knows how many years; but, for £1, I’m looking forward to joining them again on their ‘excellent adventure’…

Just got these four classics that I haven´t seen on 4K (my first 4K purchase, even though I don´t have a 4K TV nor a UHD player). Really excited to see these films

Interesting that ‘Evil Dead’ has been released in 4k UHD, when it was originally filmed with 16mm equipment … so the quality is never going to look all that great.

Ah well, heard about the film supposedly being good and I wanted to buy some 4Ks. Now that I think about it, the Universal Monster films probably aren´t that much better either…

I’ve heard they look fantastic - brand new in fact. Hope you enjoy all your movies
