I Just Bought … (Non-SW Shopping Diary)

Find a Place to Die.
This doesn’t seem to have good reviews but I haven’t seen it and it was going cheap so thought I’d order it. Anybody seen this one? What can I expect.

I did exactly the same as you, but have not got round to watching yet!

This film is average and only worth getting if you can get it cheap.
The only thing that I remember the film for is thats it’s the only film I have seen with Piero Lulli where he is not a bandit. But then again he only has a very small part in the film.

My wild east TASTE OF KILLING arrived this morning, looks like my nice widescreen Japanese tape is obsolete now!

I spend way too much money on movies

I just received “The Heroin Busters” directed by Enco Castellari and “Inferno” directed by Dario Argento, both films are on the Blue-Underground label.

“IGUANA WITH THE TONGUE OF FIRE” by Riccardo Freda, a good Giallo starring spaghetti western regular Luigi Pistilli.

There are so many great films available really cheap in the UK at the moment.

I’ve recently bought the following and not paid more than £3 for any of them.

Clockwork Orange
Midnight Cowboy
Casino
Repo Man
Will Penny
Red River
The Scalphunters
Goin’ South
American Graffitti
Million Dollar Baby

How they make any money selling them so cheaply is beyond me but I’m loving it!

GUILLERMO DEL TORO 3-DVD BOX SET [CRONOS / THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE/PANS LAB.] $49.95
I saw "Cronos" many years ago on a late night channel 4 showing, great Spanish sci-fi/horror movie, made on a very low budget but totally gripping. I didn't realise "Pans Labyrinth" was by the same director, I will have to check this set out myself :)
Clockwork Orange
I'm old enough to remember when this film was BANNED outright here in the UK. I had to watch it on a crummy VHS bootleg. These days you can pick it up in your local Woolies :D

I ordered Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky box. I already own the Raro releases of El Topo and Holy Mountain and Fantoma release of Fando & Lis but the extras on the boxed set look too good and it’s for very affordable price.

Yes I’ve got “El Topo” on order (UK Tartan Video DVD) never seen this film, really looking forward to watching it, no database entry?

Prepare for something completely different. El Topo is mind-blowing experience.

i’ve only ever seen SANTA SANGRE

I personally think it should be in the database, perhaps in a different category of non-European spaghettiwesterns. Some other movies as well: 100 Rifles, Three Bullets for a Long Gun, The Call Me Lucky, Chato’s Land, Sholay etc.

I do not agree about Sholay, it’s not a western really even if it references Leone a lot

Bone (A.K.A Beverly Hills Nightmare, Dial Rat for Terror and Housewife).

An early Larry Cohen directed film starring Yaphet Kotto and Andrew Duggan.

Cost me 1 U.K pound at my local carboot!

Bought Switchblade Sisters last week, really fun movie to watch.

King Boxer aka Five fingers of death

season one of “ROME”
