Fantastic buy.
Despite a brief rule as Bond, Timothy Dalton was the ‘King’, and made the part his own. I love the fact that he read all of the Ian Fleming ‘Bond’ novels, in preparation for the part. A true professional.

I love the theme song. It might just be me but the 80s were the most consistent era after the when it came to Bond songs.

If he stopped around longer he would probably have been the most celebrated Bond.

I find it annoying when people say he wasn’t funny. He was more serious yes, but he was funny. It wasn’t the flippant Moore type quip or Connery - black humour; it was dead pan Schwarzenegger type humour.
When he chucks a guy into a vat of maggots he entones “Bon a petite!” that’s funny, just bad ass funny.

Tim Dalton was spot on with his portrayal of 007. He always came across as a ‘bad-ass’, with good manners., and I think that summed up Ian Fleming’s original character.

Exactly. I have been researching the lost Dalton Bond. And how the Bond written in A VIEW TO A KILL was intended for him or most likely NOT Roger Moore.

Tim was great in the part…but still love Sir Roger, as Bond, especially in ‘Live and Let Die’. 
Ali, have you read the the Charlie Higson early adventures of Bond, in paperback?
There are five, I think in total.
Worth reading, if you love the 007 phenomena.
I read them all, and found them enthralling, from beginning, to end.
Seriously…worth reading…
If Roger carried on in that vein for the rest of his tenure he would not get the kind of stick his legacy gets.
