Pretty much!

Just ordered:

I liked this somewhat SW-inspired film and had it recorded from TV some 10-15 years ago. A bluray will be nice to watch.
Just ordered this. Have been waiting for it to come down in price.

Pre-ordered (out Oct 28th):

Preordered the same along with a couple of other forthcoming Arrow releases. Hopefully they will arrive before Doomsday (brexit-day) as I have no idea what the situation will be customs-wise regarding the UK after that date.
As I understand it, all exports will be seized at Dover and replaced with Frisbees, lapel badges etc. featuring Nigel “Utter C*nt” Farage’s face with the accompanying slogan: Up Yours, Johnny Foreigner! We Won the War, You Know!. You could always write to Britain to complain but we’ll have probably all gone feral or starved to death by then. All hail Brexshit. ![]()
Oh. It is exactly as I feared then
Indeed. I’m hoping to get my copy of Django the Bastard from Amazon US before Brexit as well, otherwise the Americans won’t release it to me without seizing my NHS prescription card and forcing me to purchase $500-worth of Anbesol from them.
I’m tempted to buy this new Godzilla collection by Criterion… I already own most of them on blu ray but these are probably new masters… hopefully ![]()
the downside is most of these films won’t include the English dub… which is pretty stupid at that price.
Also on my wish list. Am waiting for the inevitable Criterion half-price sale at amazon though.
That would be an immediate purchase for me if it was region B. And I’m not even all that crazy about most of the Showa era Godzilla movies.
Until last month, I had not purchased a single DVD or Bluray since 2017!
Every DVD listed below was purchased via Amazon as “used” from a third party vendor. Typically Goodwill.
DVD
Deal of a Lifetime (1999) (Shiri Appleby)
A la Mode (1993) (French)
Blow Dry (2001) (Josh Hartnett)
Safe Passage (1994) (Susan Sarandon)
Renaissance Man (1994) (DeVito)
So Fucking What (1994) (Witherspoon)
Bluray
The Vengeance Trilogy boxset
Big Wednesday (1978)
Jean De Florette / Manon of the Spring
Explicit Ills (2008)
I seem to have heard someone mention that it will be released in the UK at some point also.
I’ve read/heard nothing of the sort mate, but I’ll be absolutely delighted if that turns out to be the case.
Saw it mentioned somewhere on www.blu-ray.com but perhaps only wishful thinking being aired. Even if it should get a UK-release I will end up buying the US one as that will most definitely be the cheaper option even if it should be picked up in customs. Plus the UK will also be in a customs unfriendly zone at that time so that doesn’t really matter ![]()
I wonder how the small UK labels will fare after Brexit. I have a feeling that a big share of their releases now end up in mainland Europe and probably not so much after that deadline.
