I fancy picking up Ikiru myself. I’ve only ever seen period pieces by Kurosawa, none of his contemporary works. That’s an anomaly which badly needs addressing. Many consider Ikiru to be Kurosawa’s finest.

Throne of Blood and Rashōmon are both fantastic.

It’s an old comedy DVD featuring actor/comedian Paul Kaye (Thoros of Myr in Game of Thrones) from back when he performed largely in-character as “Dennis Pennis”, a nerd-chic broadcaster for the BBC who would essentially insult the stars he was interviewing.
