I was just reading Sieglinde’s post about her book and was wondering what other projects might be going on out there, on a ‘literal’ level (other than the new films that we know about)?
Brother Phil should have nearly finished his ‘Pre-Leone Eurowesterns’ book by now ;).
Brother Scherp is probably having an existentual crisis of faith and tying himself in metaphysical knots regarding his ‘The Philosophy of Spaghetti’.
Which leaves the gratuitous sex, drugs and violence to the rest of us … (well me, if not you ;D)
Myself - I’ve been playing with ideas for (and ocassionally working on) a - very adult, very graphic - graphic SW novel.
I’ve got a rough idea of the story (which does involve a convent, strangely) and some imo ‘interesting’ set visual pieces have already been designed.
One ‘bit’ involved a shootout on peote - and the aftermath will look something like this piccy I just finished - ‘scept the characters in the piccy will be changed to the story characters (and no native american indians) …
Altho’ the visual style will be very different to this image - this is a cartoony-Escher-on-peote-induced-type-tessallating nightmare/dream. At the mo. it goes by two names ‘spaghetti western’ - literal (not metaphysical knots of people) and ‘ghost riders in the sky’. By accident more than design, there seems to be a PLL looking character and K.K. dead in the pile? No Lorenzo to spot tho’ Phil?
One day I’ll finish the ‘comic’ :-\ 8).

I’ve done writing a screenplay called “Day of the Devil”. It’s a SW about a Chinese American bounty hunter in the old west. I’m going to register it with the WGA soon.
I’m also beginning conceptual work for my second feature, “The Sound of a Colt”. Its going to be like a western version of death wish.
One fun thing I’ve thought about doing ins taking an old spag western, writing a new script and score for it and just redoing the sound and voice overdubs to make a brand new movie out of it.
[quote=“Chris_Casey, post:7, topic:996”]As for my “projects”----well, I am always working on something (music, screenplays, or short stories).

Indeed, I’ve found this already Brother Chris. This is atmospheric stuff. Perfect for a western (spaghetti-stylee). I love this whistlin-stuff, as I mentioned to ya many moons ago amigo.
That surf-stuff’s genius 'n’all.
Yes indeed…great music and amazing artwork. I’d often thought of doing some Sw related fiction myself, having written an awful lot of stuff on other sites, but finding just the right idea is hard…and i have to say i’m not the most motivated of people at the moment! Nice to see that there are so many talented people here though!
