High Crime DVD Kickstarter

Hi gang,

I found this accidentaly and really want to publicise and promote it: http://www.doradofilms.com/projects/high+crime+on+dvd+or+blu-ray.php

It is Dorado Films attempt to get a High Crime DVD/Blu Ray out. For my money this is one of the best euro-cult films ever made and probably the best euro-crime movie all round! The only problem is it has never gotten a quality English language release. Please support this if you are interested and spread the word!

I agree, this does look nice! I like kickstarters, great way of funding a protect and a great way to get limited edition stuff for the obsessive collectors ;D
I would like to see some spags get funded by kickstarters, give some the releases they deserve.

Damn…as much as I would like to see this on blu-ray that is a big jump up in price. A solid DVD might be more practical.

We were discussing this over at LLL.

I’d love to see it happen but I don’t reckon they’ll get enough to be honest. But we can hope!

Yep, the reaction so far doesn’t seem to be great but the word isn’t exactly out. I do think they have over-complicated things a bit, just kick starting a plain old DVD release might have been the best option rather than all the additions and different versions they are suggesting.

Also, as a European as much as I’d like the DVD it is going to give me Region A/B headaches, whereas at least I know it is easy to play a Region 1 DVD.

I always thought it wasn’t and that there was always problems… I’ve never had a regular DVD player that couldn’t be made multi-region by pressing a few buttons!

It’s all about the cost really.
You can get a region free DVD player for about 30 quid but a proper region free BluRay player will knock you back more like 150-200.
As a result, for the time being I’m sticking with DVDs.

I just had a thought… What if these dvd companies could put out remastered trailers in theatres, and then after the trailer ask for funding to get this released? A bit implausible, I know, since they probably would need support in major retailers and all, but maybe with a Tarantino or Tarantino-supported movie…

They should just ask Tarantino for the funding…You know he would love a proper release

Fascinating the threads I am finding here on the Forum
