OK, Today’s the day. My teenage years are counted - I’m officially two decades old today.

Ayy welcome to the 20-year-old club. I joined in November but I’ll be honest, I still don’t really feel like an adult at all :joy:

I’ll let you in on a secret … you never will … being a ā€˜grown up’ is all a myth

I turned 20 a long, long, long time ago and I still don’t feel like an adult.

Happy Birthday Amigo!!! Hope you had a wonderful day.

We’re all kids at heart in one form or another, the one good thing about adulthood is that we’re all more wiser.

…And an even more belated thank you to all congratulations here! (Been busy doing a few other things this week, so this belatedness is not due to nonchalance or lack of gratefulness)

The only thing that bothers me is that they say the first 20 years of your life are the most formative ones. Is that era of new interests and formative experiences simply gone now like that? Of course, one way to interpret it is that I have another ten months left of that period… or maybe it’s best to stick to the fact that those official overnight demarcations are not really directly binding.

(Sorry for my very belated answer, but) Nor do I, at least not any more than I did a couple of weeks ago. That said, I’m mentally more like a 70-year old in some ways :smirk:.

But those age marks are getting a bit out of date I think. The average 20-year old of our generation is probably more like a 17-18 year old in my father’s generation (He started working at age 17 back in 1968, and several of his relatives thought it was late).

Happy (very belated) birthday dude! Wouldn’t worry about the time passing you by either. First twenty years may be most formative, but that definitely does not mean you’re going to be the same person. I’m sure most people on here can let you know, it’s pretty unlikely you won’t experience a lot of growth in the coming years.
