I am very sure that was exactly what that was, but at Plaion’s glacial speed I suspect we won’t hear much more of this until before christmas…
I’m normally pretty good about keeping up with Plaion’s SW news, but my head’s spinning a little now: are they sticking to 10 releases or are they adding an extra 5 or 10 to the line from that hint we got in 2023 or 2024?
nobody knows for sure, they were never clear about this
Yes, since it is Plaion you never get clear information. In former Koch times it was more transparent.
They’ve been dragging this Arrabbiata series for years, other labels would’ve finished it in 24 months at 10 titles if it was supposed to be ten. But Plaion/Koch have a record of starting series/collections and then stopping them, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this one ended at 10. Also, they keep releasing films outside the series, which also sucks. And, sorry to the DVD-methusalems on here, releasing BluRay/DVD combos is also getting old… So if I were to make a prediction: the series will end at #10…
The series was limited to 10 in the beginning. Later they inofficially anounced to extend up to 15 because they have so many SW licenses. I think it will depend on sales…and only one title seems to be oop![]()
Shit sells hard if only sold in label store. I am very strongly anti shop exclusives, among other reasons because of that
It’s a bizarre strategy. One of the reasons I imagine German Blu-ray releases do so well is that they very commonly are English friendly, so lots of people will import them too. Making them shop exclusives basically makes that impossible without spending a massive amount of money on a shipping forwarding service.
“Death rides a Horse” is also out of print (along with “The Hellbenders”), but it no longer even appears on the Plaion website…
I wonder if that is really so, without knowing the numbers
The main problem is, that products that can’t be found In the aisle of major retailers or per search on Amazon etc just don’t quite “exist”, especially not for occasional shoppers. Shop exclusivity is an enormous self restriction on sales that has only two major benefits for the label I think: positioning the own store, and much higher margins (Amazon takes two digit cuts, most people don’t realize, and dictate terms like products can’t be cheaper elsewhere)
