Sorry if I’ve mistagged this! I’ve been reading posts on this site for a while but never made an account or posted before. (I also imagine a lot of people are sick of the Dollars Trilogy talk haha)
Recently, I watched the Italian AFOD to take note of any lines that were different from the English version. There are some lines that I’ve seen discussed, such as the “Cause I knew someone like you once. There was no one there to help” line, but I also noticed a difference in the “Yeah, and that’s not gonna break my heart” line.
It’s in the scene after the Man with No Name (or Joe) takes Marisol to the Baxters after accidentally knocking her out at the Rojo’s place. Consuelo Baxter says “Very soon you are going to be rich” and he replies “Yeah, and that’s not gonna break my heart”. Unfortunately, as I was transcribing whilst watching, I only was able to take note of what the captions translated the Italian line as: “Actually, this is the only reason… that persuades me to stay here.” (This isn’t the purpose of my post, but I wonder if anyone know the Italian line?)
I was rewatching AFOD in English and I feel like the line he says doesn’t match up with the dubbed line? Now, of course I know the film is entirely dubbed so it just could be a mismatch — but in the past I saw someone bring up the “Every gun makes its own tune” line (in TGTBATU) that was dubbed over differently and wondered if this was a similar case. Like the original line spoken could’ve been similar to the line in the Italian version. Does anyone know?
