Der Socceritos (2026) - AI short film with Terence Hill

Terence Hill had a link to this “short film” in his most recent Instagram story. I could see straight away that it’s AI, but still decided to give it a go. I’m disappointed, as expected.

Der Socceritos tells of two men who arrive to a Wild West town and try to introduce football to the people, but are met with skepticism. They hang out with Terence Hill’s Nobody who’s old, and who does the gun slapping routine on a guy at the saloon.

I personally use AI for role playing, but I don’t think AI should be used for making films (unless it’s effects or something, hasn’t that been a thing for ages?) There are talented people out there who could’ve filmed this in real life, but no, let’s do the whole s*it with AI. Also, as a huge Terence Hill fan, seeing him as an AI character is really meh, and I’m honestly a bit disappointed that he’s advertising this on social media. Maybe it’s just something he/his team has to do?

I just watched a few minutes. It’s not my thing. In the German version they recreated the German dub voice of Terence Hill, Thomas Dannenberg ( died in 2023), with AI. It’s terrible.

Is Terence Hill really AI created ? I’ve read he acts for real in this short movie ….

Maybe. He looks kinda real at least in some parts

With AI they were able to create a young Nobody.

At the end of the film, outtakes from the set are shown, which to me clearly suggests that these are real actors. The film is certainly AI-assisted, but it’s definitely not a film made entirely by AI. I thought it was quite cool to see Granit Xhaka in a Western, but he’s clearly a better footballer than an actor.

I became so blinded by the AI that I thought the outtakes are also AI :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
